geez, ease up a bit guys. I drive a cab for a living to make a few extra bucks. been doing night shift for the last 8 months or so, and I'm a pretty good driver on the road. always courteous etc. give me a break.

LOL is there a cabbie forum?? 100% there's a thread on there called "Those f**king skyline driver!"

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I got a story!! I was going down victoria rd in my 31. This kunt in a silver vectra who has his wife and his kid with him, went from the left lane to the right lane (the left lane ends many times on victoria rd) three times in a row. I then decided to go around the annoying f**ker and got in the right lane as i got closer, he moves into the right lane when the left lane disappears. This tool had no idea which lane to keep his shitbox in. He was as confused has a gay man in a room full arse holes.

I didn't have a horn (as the few that have been in the car whilst im driving, know i'm very "horny" (i like using the horn) in the car), so i flashed him, went next to him and told him off. You know what he did? He starts swearing at me like i was in the wrong.. WTF. His wife and kid looked worried.. f**k, if they weren't there......

Who the f**k gives these motherf**kers their license? f**king clueless kunts.

/rant :)

please explain how you "drive a cab for a living", "to make a few extra bucks". lol

Hate them..

Was going up oxford street a few nights back.. Saw all this commotion, looked to the left two ambulances with someone inside one crying their eyes out.. Look to the right and see a cab with it's windshield smashed in.. :P

I sometimes enjoy when I'm at the lights and they try to skip the traffic by getting in the left lane and taking off from the lights fast.. I just wait it out.. get ahead and slow down so they have to stop in the parked car lane and wait for others to let them back in :sorcerer:

Oxford street, extremely high rate of pedestrian injuries and deaths. Lot's of people off their faces lots of the time. Twice I have come around the corner from Flinders into Oxford and nearly hit an idiot on the road when they shouldn't be. 2 days ago was so close that when the idiot gestured to his mate while talking I was able to punch his hand to wake him up. Don't think he did though as he was completely munted.

That said, I've played frogger on that street one morning about 10am.

Those f**king pedestrians! They should be banned.

I steer as far away from cabbies as humanly possible...

and wtf is it with them accelerating with the brake light on...

one thing I hate is machine abuse, and gunning it while applying the brake is epic.

I'm not going to rant as I've done so in the Sydney drivers thread

a very simlar thing happend to me the other day

but was an old guy in a gold accent, he was being a tool and was tailgating everyone

when i had the chance i stayed up next to him, and the whole way on the road i just keep blocking him off when he was about to over take, i didnt even try to take off fast at the lights and that kunt sturggles so hard to keep up( i mean to the speed limit), then 100 m down the road he comes pass doing 30+kph over the limit, but we always seem to meet up at the next lights for some reason. didnt look at him once, but at the last lights, i was about to turn right, i looked over and that kunt was swearing his head off and looked like he was about to have a heart attk, i just smiled at him. it was funny sh*t

I just remembered some thing..

Am I only the one that is scared when they see a taxi with a big f**koff bullbar on the front of their car.. like the ones that belong on the front of a american size pickup truck or hummer..

not if im at home.

its funny that this thread has come up...a guy at my uni slashed up a cabbie the other night and dumped his body in a park nearby..wonder why? revenge maybe?
this is exactly what you wanted to do when this sort of event happened lol but yeh -10 for both cabbie & buses

+1 for hating cab drivers who think they own the road!

and +1 for hating bus drivers who think they can cut u off as soon as they put their signal on!

A friend of mine did see a bus driver being written a ticket once tho, cos he cut off an unmarked cop car...lol serves him right!

bit off topic but

i know a fella that got pulled over by a coppa for doin like 5k's over the limit it was around $150 fine

    • New CAS just turned up from NZ Wiring. Looks like a nice bit of gear.  So, yeah. Triggered, bro. Realised I may as well do the cam belt while mucking about with it so will order one of them.
    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
