Hey guys,

Look at this forum! I recognize maybe 10 nicks in total and everyone since to have gotten themselves new rides! I really wish I could take the time to come back but work commitments have kept me pretty much married to my job. For those who don’t know me, well lets just say I used to run around with the guys a lot and shoot mean cruise videos  and for those who do know me, it would be great to touch base once again.

Its ironic how I miss Perth more and more each day and KL feels less like home. To those whom I’ve not kept in touch with, sorry for being a stranger but it was easier to leave quietly than in a big way. Anyways, I’m back in KL for good and I’m in investment banking doing boring IPOs and mergers and stuff. Nowhere near as fun as organizing illegal drags (not that I

ever have or know of any such activity in Perth!) but we all have to keep busy somehow I guess.

Anyways, I’m back in the car scene! But this time, I was a bit fickle-minded and couldn’t really decide on what car I really wanted. In the end, I’m now stuck with 3 cars, one stock, one built and one bought. That means I’m in everyone’s camp now! I’m the fence sitter.

So lets get started then. Initially, I bought a 350z cause I wanted an everyday car and one that would not make my clients think I’m a boyracer at heart. So I got a 2002 model tiptronic and did some minor mods to it, nothing really substantial.

1) Nissan 350z

Chargespeed carbon fibre bonnet + blue bonnet clips

Ganador carbon fibre side mirrors

HKS titanium exhaust (twin piping) from Y-pipe

TEIN Mono Flex + EDFC

Volk Racing GT-V 19" with Falken452 rubber

Other than normal servicing and removing the speed cut, its pretty a daily driver.

2) Subaru Impreza WRX STi Version 9 Spec C

This one I can proudly say I built-up completely from scratch. Here’s a picture of when I first got it from the dealership:

Then, I sort of went crazy on it and the result was the following:

Aftermarket TMIC 4"

Apexi Auto Timer (Blue LED Limited Edition)

Blitz air filter

Bonnet clips

Carbing Carbon Alternator Cover

Carbing Oil Catch Tank

Chargespeed carbon bonnet

Chargespeed carbon boot

Cusco Anti Roll Bars

Defi meter set (6 pieces)

Endless brake kit (6pot fronts/4pot rears)

Ganador carbon look side mirror

Heatshield Thermal Wrap

HKS EVC 5 Boost controller

HKS Gold plated Circle Earth system

HKS GT2835 + F Con iS

HKS Hi-Power exhaust + stainless dump

HKS Kansai Carbon Intake Box

HKS LA Clutch

HKS metal head gasket

HKS Spark plugs

HKS Suction Kit

HKS Twin Power + connecter

HKS Valcon Pro

JE forged pistons

Koyo aluminium radiator

Power Enterprise 650cc injectors

Power Enterprise Timing Belt

Samco radiator hose

Sard fuel regulator

SSI Exhaust Manifold + support pipe

STI sticker work

TEIN Monoflex + EDFC

Voltex carbon rear spoiler

Work rims + Advan Neova 18"

Walbro Fuel Pump (255 L/h)

3) Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec II

Then I kicked myself when the Subaru’s engine blew (forged pistons only went in after) and realized that the emptiness I felt, was not being filled. Why? Cause I have not yet owned my dream car! So I thought to myself, to hell with it. I’m only young once and I can finally afford it on my own so why shouldn’t I treat myself to GTR! This time I bought one that came modded but had low KMs (all my cars were under 20,000kms with the Subaru being lowest – 7,000kms).

Since I’ve only had this car a couple of weeks, we have not yet gotten round to listing whats on the car already other than what is really obvious, which even then are too many to list. But just off the top of my head, the car came from Japan with the following already:

Endless 6pot fronts and 4pot rears

Apexi air filters

Apexi Power-FC

Apexi twin turbos - tiny as hell

Aftermarket aluminium radiator - Fwin or something

Aftermarket clutch- easy as hell to drive although no idea what it is w/o taking out the box

ARC intercooler

Kakimoto exhaust - loud as fk

Nismo intake manifold

SARD Fuel regulator

Volk forged TE37 with RE55S tires but since replaced with Falken Azenis ST615

I'm not sure what cams there are fitted but there is quite a lumpy idle but we'll find out soon once we start the rebuild. Initially I wanted to go for a TOMEI engine but couldn’t justify the 80k price tag, not when the HKS2.8 was in the 30k range. So anyways, here are some pics:

http://img395.imageshack.us/img395/4963/nismocluboy7.jpg

So there you go. As you can see, I have been busy and although I may have had an affair with another, I still remained a true Nissan man at heart. Anyways, would love to hear from you guys. Those who have spare change, I could use some help, three cars are hard to maintain LOL.

    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.
    • It's almost certainly the same as the one next to it. • South Australia, which is hardly as far behind as the rest pf Oz makes out, and who is also not a paragon of progressiveness (read that as over-legislation) in the area of vehicle standards, has this to say on the subject: Adjustable coil-over suspension Aftermarket adjustable coil-over suspension components are suspension units that incorporate an external thread on the main body and corresponding threaded spring saddle that allows the vehicle's suspension height to be varied. If fitting aftermarket or coil-over suspension components you must submit an Application to modify a light motor vehicle form and a report from a light vehicle engineering signatory (LVES).
    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • Those above shitboxes, mediocre and above usually have a turbo strapped to them, hence the slightly higher octane is required.
