sounds bout right, 70 beans to machine the flywheel if sent out. we charge anywhere between 300 and 500 depending on car, whether it has exhaust/extractors in the way, if its 4wd etc etc etc. what have you been quoted?

mate PM slide, hes on the gold coast (i think) and ive read somewhere that he can do them for $310 which includes flywheel machining and gearbox oil change, which is pretty damn good IMO. i paid $280 btw, but im in sydney.

ive been quoted about 350-470 (more likely 470) as i am getting a jim berry clutch and he want the gasket changed on the gearbox i think and that means oil aswell and a spriget bearing, the flywheel will already be machined as jim is doing that.

Who does slide work for, I will have a triple plate clutch for sale soon :D

hey mate

i got a jim berry clutch also for my GTS-T Type m

and Bel garage have roughly quoted about $500

not really fussed if there is someone cheaper to save a few $$$ as bel garage are pretty damn good and they do all my work, i can trust em, lets jus hope they dont have another break in :santa::D

Quick update for me....

Was quoted $470 for a company on the Central Coast, went thru them today and was charged $403.70

Very happy

Got the cushion/button from slide.

I was worried about the clutch pressure as it's my everyday commuter to syd and back.

It's now twice as EASY to press down.

Rang em when i got home thinking they'd put the wrong one in but he said that's normal and said it was the semi/button they put in.

Apparently the newer ones are getting made better or something along those lines.

But anyway, i'm stoked ! Better clutch, no more slipping, cheaper than expected, and easier to drive...Sewwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeett !!

:D

Quick EDit:

Everything i said positive about this clutch i take back, it's a piece of shit and is slipping, since day 1.

Now 3 weeks later it needs replacing. Total crap.

By the way, i'm not the only one.

good stuff, I ended up getting my bearings done in my gearbox, syncro's deglazed (was going to replace then but they were pretty new) and the new clutch in for $800.00 at A1 Gearbox and Diff at the goldcoast, very happy :D

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
