Yeah, my mum came racing into the dining room this evening..

"Mark Mark look! Skylines have been caught hooning!!"

my reply:

"Great, just what I f**king need, more attention by the boys and blue, and people giving me sideways looks because of what I f**king drive...."

Just kept eating my roast... The media always screws car enthusiasts and I really couldn't be buggered tonight...

Mind you, I got caught for hoon laws last year, so call me a hypocrite, but at least I had the consideration TO DO IT IN A FREAKING VL COMMODORE!!!!

Im sure there is just as many falcadore and commonwhore drivers being hoons too.

In every club/culture/instituion etc there is a minority that will do the wrong thing. Even the police force...thats why they have internal affairs etc.

It cant be stopped and the public will always brand the whole group the same!

Just have to live with it and move on.

lol lucky for me the news crew wasnt there 5 mins earlier.....

they were nailing plenty of cars that night,12 to be exact, car club part might have something to do with the fact there was a cruise on fri night, and the cops knew about it.

who says they were giving sauwa a bad rep?? no where did i see or hear them use the name of any clubs.

The government needs to make some more places where people can go and push their cars to the limit. We have a drag strip at the bottom of perth and a race track at the top of perth (which is pretty crap) and we just need more. They forget about all the people that are into cars

Yes im sure that all of the posters in this thread have never broken a law in their lives. :(

I suppose threads like are just a part of life as are news based shows making a fuss about "the menace on our streets: endangering our children and raping our pets"

Im in the "ignore it and it will go away" boat im afraid.

I'm so bored of these threads. If someone tells you your a hoon because of the car you drive.. slap em over the head or something and tell em to wake up to the fact that its people that drive cars not cars that drive people.

But anyway I'm sure pretty much everyone on here has done silly stuff in their cars at one stage.. you just didnt get caught on camera like that guy.

I'm not saying I've always been an angel on the road. I've had speeding fines and a car accident when I was 18. I have learnt from all that.

I just wish the media would stop generalising, as for the most part, I am a safe driver as I'm sure most of you are.

    • If you mean the alarm immobiliser; theyre internal to the alarm itself which makes that difficult; I couldnt even see where he put it; its not in the same place as last time; but with all black wiring it might be very challenging to trace  I had someone turn the key for me as I know it only primes for a couple of seconds As my post above; I am getting no voltage to the pump at all; but I am testing continuity of the power line (SB) from the pump plug to the relay fine. As well as the negative from the pump plug to a 12V constant.    Yeah; he blammed the no start on a bad battery; said I needed to get a new battery and it'll start. Turns out the battery drained because the tail lights had been on for half the day during the install (the rubber cushion on the brake switch gave out while he was testing it as I have a picture of the car from that morning with the tail lights off..i've replaced that). The battery was turning over the engine just fine for a long time; but got low since lights were draining it so it was too low to test a start after he finished. I bought a new one on his advice...$250 wasted. My original battery charged up just fine and is healthy.    It was running perfectly fine when I messed up the old alarm (programmed out the remotes). He couldnt start it after removing the old alarm; my assumption is that when he unhooked it; he didnt bridge the circuit back when trying to start it. Its always been perfectly fine. The ECU swap and pump were 2 years ago. It's never missed a beat in that time.
    • This is a big issue for me without the diff. I just have zero drive from the passenger side when drivers side has no traction. Bec's parents place has a crazy steep driveway with odd camber and I have never been able to get up. My bro-in-law's 130i with an (unknown brand) LSD gets up fine as does their dad's Hiace. My car stays at the bottom. We have other odd camber roads around here as we're elevated a bit and if it's raining I can get totally stuck around some hairpins.
    • Yeah, I am super excited for this.
    • Was the car running before he touched the car?
