POLICE are to launch a blitz of P-plate and learner drivers in a bid to curb out-of-control behaviour. NSW Police Force traffic services commander Chief Superintendent John Hartley said Operation Compliance would come into force in 80 local area commands next month.

The day-long operation would address the continuing failure of young drivers to observe new laws, and ram home the message about speeding and carrying multiple passengers.

Drive safe P-platers!

Well I know this is true .. Seems Weekend was a blitz of defects ... Mates got done and thankfully i never was pulled over.. However my car is legal as ive done all the mods to the law.

However I also stick to the speed limit not a drop over it so I dont think ill have a problem, however seems the need for speed is just to strong in other people on their p's

what can you do hey.. I hope im not massively effected by this however its hard to think I wont be. I hopefully wont have to much trouble.

Just a warning to anyone out west, just stay off the roads on friday/sat nights seems parra rd is a nice target spot (dont know why i even attempted to take my poor line down it :) )

so glad i dont drive my car on the weekends, been too lazy to figure out how to attach the P plate to the front of my car, but after being followed by coppas the other day i think ill do it pretty soon.... would suck to get stung a month away from my fulls!

LOL!.. North Shore/ Eastie Girls with daddies BM.. gotta love..

just makes me hate life..

I highly doubt thats her dads car, more then likely its hers... i know a few girls that age, with pretty much that exact car...

Why? Its a 10-15 year old BMW 318i, which means a pretty cheap nugget (you can get an E36 328i for under $20K these days) and its even more gutless than an an RB20DE powered Skyline.

Its the perfect car for tarts and social climbers.

Having driven an E36 and E46 318i extensively, I'm wondering how its even possible to get "out of control" in one. I think I only ever managed to lift off oversteer it once, and that was driving in an arc on the side of a hill in the wet on 50,000km old tyres.

    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
    • Look at @Kinkstaah's thread on the issue.
