Yes, saving money for an alarm as we speak. Probly one like Pauly's, im hooked on the idea of starting the car and it heating up inside before i go out and get into it. and the quick release steering wheel is the best idea i think, definatly go one of these when i have some extra money. At the moment i have 4 workmates that have eyes on my car most of the time anyways (they like looking at it) and the hidden car park video camera's that we have so its pretty safe at the moment, but ya never know i guess.

not that im one of them, but some people cant afford to save any money, let alone 8 hung for an alarm, when insurance, rego, fuel, maintenance...etc etc is enough already..when i was an apprentice no that long ago, was hard to scratch a dime together. easier said than done...also, its all well and good to say, dont buy the car if you cant alarm it...but hey...when you want something really bad...youll scrape every dime together just to afford repayments etc. hell, some people have mortgages, kids, even 1 or 2 girlfriends. cant afford shit. lol

im just sayin....its hard for some people...as long as your aware of the risks.

hmmm spend 800bux on an alarm or risk 20g car being stolen and never recovered pretty simple choice

there are also choices the alarm doesnt have to cost $800 shop smart ppls

A high quality Austraian Standard popular branded(Mongoose, Viper, Cyclops, Black Widow etc) alarm system with minimum 3 point immobilizer, black wiring etc can be had for bout half of that... its once you start getting additional features it starts to get up to $800 and over.

did u get the one i linked you to pauly

Vu @ autobahn the basic viper installed is

$900.00

The one at autobarn for $900 is remote start... mate of mine got an basic Australian standard Viper alarm with window wind up for $500something fitted at Tonkins.

Today tonight yes, but it wont hold in court. Unlike america entrapment is against the law here go figure....

Bait cars are not entrapment.

Entrapment would be saying to a junkie 'Steal the stereo from that car and I'll give you $100', and then arresting him when he breaks into the car.

I was slightly right, but ^ is partly wrong as well :

ENTRAPMENT - A person is 'entrapped' when he is induced or persuaded by law enforcement officers or their agents to commit a crime that he had no previous intent to commit; and the law as a matter of policy forbids conviction in such a case.

However, there is no entrapment where a person is ready and willing to break the law and the Government agents merely provide what appears to be a favorable opportunity for the person to commit the crime. For example, it is not entrapment for a Government agent to pretend to be someone else and to offer, either directly or through an informer or other decoy, to engage in an unlawful transaction with the person. So, a person would not be a victim of entrapment if the person was ready, willing and able to commit the crime charged in the indictment whenever opportunity was afforded, and that Government officers or their agents did no more than offer an opportunity.

HOWEVER :)

On the other hand, if the evidence leaves a reasonable doubt whether the person had any intent to commit the crime except for inducement or persuasion on the part of some Government officer or agent, then the person is not guilty.

Always comes down to reasonable doubt...

Damn that's bad. I just got my alarm, have to get it installed

:)

if you need the name of a competent installer PM me or Pauly im sure was happy with his installer i paid $180 for my install

are you fkn serious? your saving money NOW to get an alarm? This is why so many skylines lately have been stolen. NO ALARM!! Sad that it takes shit like this for people to realise. They arent that expensive.

Well i've just spent $800 for tyres, only had a job 4 weeks and only just got my car back on the road, only had it 6 months, an alarm was on the list but unfortunatly i needed new tyres first, so dont say s**t til you actually know the circumstances! And yes, I've wanted a GTR since i was 16, as soon as i saw this one i wanted it, but yes, i realize that i should have thought about all those other things that come with owning a car, but yeah, didnt think i was going to get fired as i was a manager at the time.

And as ryanrb25 said its hard but im getting money together and would actually cost more to catch public transport to work everyday. But yeh i know the risks, as i said, theres alot of eyes on my car during the day and its locked away at night, but yeh, it will soon be alarmed.

haha check out my sig... its my job

3 Point immobiliser is essential.

IMHO, don't bother with the extra features offered with alarms... In my experience they just end up being massive headaches (poor quality sensors result in cr4p performance and false alarms/angryness)... As long as the alarm goes off with entry or large shock I'd be happy.

I personally wouldn't even consider a remote start option... Added cost for decreased security?

In terms of where to get alarms: I would suggest to avoid car toys (I have only had bad and very bad experiences with them... and the alarm was very substandard and expensive)

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
