It's official.

My Skyline, formerly known as MUD76, is now in new hands.

She served me well for 5 long years, but times change and it was no longer practical for me.

I have had my heart set on a V35 for ages but I will hold off on a car for a while (will use money to invest in a couple of short term projects).

I will continue to MOD and be a as active as I can with SAU QLD in the short term.

In the mid - long term I will look to pass on the Mod battern, so I'll keep my eye out and make a recomendation to admins when I've had enough and decide to leave.

(I told myself I wouldn't cry)

Cheers

M

Yeah the market sucks atm...

But thats only cause the AUD is very strong against the Greenback atm...

Give it a few months and the price of imports will rise again a solid 15%...

I think ill hang onto mine until the US dollar re-gains strength...

What a load of shit!

How does the US dollar effect the price of cars that are already in the country?

Actually how does it effect the price of cars coming from Japan either?

If anything, a strong $AU makes things cheaper from overseas.

Back on topic :pirate:

I felt I got a reasonable price and a pretty quick sale.

What a load of shit!

If anything, a strong $AU makes things cheaper from overseas.

Stronger $AU means cheaper importation which means cheaper prices on resale from both the cars coming in and the cars already here.

However, the primary problem with import resale is basic supply and demand. There were so many skylines and like vehicles imported pre the 89 ruling that they are now effectively a dime a dozen and nothing will change that. The price will level, but not rise and once they get older it will just continue to fall. Not to mention with the new P plate laws, the price will continue to fall as the next generation of teenagers realise they can't buy a skyline which, like it or not, accounts for much or at least some of the skyline market. Unfortunately for sellers the days of 20k r33's are well and truly gone, good for buyers though.

    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
    • Hey all. I’m looking on replacing my speed sensor on my R33 GTR. Will the center differential need to be drained, and if so, the center diff uses ATF fluid D? I found information on the transmission, front diff and rear diff. Can’t find a for sure answer for the center diff. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
