Engine, zorst, WG, GB, ECU, Loom etc all came as a package. - Not bad for $1800 !

So, so far my pig project has cost me - $1500 for the car - $500 for wheels and tyres - $1800 for engine etc - $100 for paint - $3900 total.

And for me - the most fun is putting it all together ! :P

haha! that is going to be an awsome pig. If you stop putting money into it right now you will bea able to slide it for a year and sell it for $4000 when you are sick of it :whistling:

nice work B-Man

S13 Coilovers, LCAs, Stub Axles and hubs on there way - time for some camber :nyaanyaa:

Lowered double rate rear springs on their way

S15 4 Pot brakes on their way ! -

The good thing about this car is that it is light and newer better parts are cheap as ppl upgrade theirs, they sell of good old parts.

I'll probably end up spending about $5,500 total on it - but I reckon it will go hard, stop hard and corner hard.

Most difficult thing is finding a LSD for cheap - Might just weld it up - but I don't think that would be any good for circuit. Good for Drift, but not circuit perhaps.

Dropped engine at workshop yesterday - Gave it a bit of a clean. Took cam cover off - looks to be in good nick.

Has a VLT turbo on it - with wastegate welded shut at the actuator. However, they didn't completely weld it shut - so it must have been leaking boost - no wonder the dyno graph that the dude showed me looked laggy. 220RWHP - We should be able to fix that sucker and make it go a lot better.

How's the paint job coming along?

And what colour you heading for?

There must be some w/end progress. Post it up!

We've got a retard living nextdoor with a Gazelle.

Spent around $20k all up with no upgrades except a replacement SR20DET and full paint job.

What a waste of money. He could have bought any car he wanted for that $$$

Now paying it off which will take him 30yrs on his pay! Haha.

It does look nice though in black, but 20k !!!! and no air conditioning !!!!

(not meant to be a reflection on B-Man, i just think it's funny)

Steel wheels ??? I plan on turning the boost up ! :P

Yes, the VLT turbo is tiny - but it does have steel wheels

No progress on the Paint - except cam cover and plenum - oh and calipers - this is going to be one technicolour Gazelle. :(:) ha ha

Coilovers arrived

Intercooler Arrived

Some Pics soon !

Today I fabricated my own dump pipe. Farken very satisfying making up the custom job.

New gaskets for the top end

Painted cam cover and plenum

Injector kit thu all the injectors.

Pulled the GB off to check the clutch out - all good

Will be great to get out there and do some circuit and drift work again - I miss those days in the Skyline. Eastern Creek, with Maj's father in law in the passenger seat. Benm on the drift day. Then thrashing Paul on the mini karna on the skid pan :)

Yep - Supra still there. I don't know 100% what the story is with that one. But what I do know is that they work bloody fast and well - So I don't think it's lack of expertise or willingness to do the job - I can only speculate.

Also , what I know is that I dropped of my S12 this week and it's a good chance of being all complete by end of next week.

It's going to go hard !

Can't wait !

Yeah the supra project has hit as many walls as steve-o's gtr :P

I would have thought that the engine and accesories would have been put in and back together by now though... maybe they are still waiting on some internals...

    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
