I know im pretty safe in Sunbury as i think im the only 1 car with a FMIC and the coppers dont even know what a turbo is,but for u guys over the other side of town be carefull

Just a warning guys

i dont think winter has anything 2 do with it, its coz its nearly the end of the financial year so they will need to get cashed up for next years donut supply.

cops r always on sum bs import crackdown, its all about the $$ nothing to do with road safety and it always will be!

LOL!!!

Sunbury cops wouldn't know a snail if the stepped on one!

but yeah... crack down for the BUDGET... more like stable income to me.

But i have seen radom Roadie sessions on Sharps Rd/Keilor Park drive on and off. You can't see it till your over the hill and then there are 3-4 interceptors and they get everything driving past. Usually in the afternoon's.

Well maybe yes because of the budget but the reason there giving is cause this time of the year the roads are dangerous/wet and they want to keep the roadtoll down by taking un-roadworthy cars off the road, which i think is a great idea as long as they dont pick on us and get the REAL! shity cars of the road like the ones that are getting held together by rust and have no exaust etc

You'd think they would have better things to do, honestly. A person driving around with a tail-light out or something is hardly a menance to society.

The thing is lowlux, that is not their goal at all... its mainly imports i hear about because they're obvious targets - even if they are less than 10 years old and 95% of the time compliant in the genuine "safety" aspects. If they were actually pulling over old rust buckets and things and genuinely scary looking cars then I would see the reasoning. But its about making money, pure and simple.

I remember reading a while back that a study was done by Vicroads - and there was actually 3% or less of accidents the factor was an unroadworthy vehicle.. so for them to claim its saving lives is pure rubbish. The road toll has remained static for the last few years - can't they see that there is just only so much that can be done.

Dickheads will always kill themselves on the roads (and anywhere else), its just a fact of life. The government trying to protect people like that from themselves (or others) is never going to work. I don't even understand that mentality to be honest. If a person drives like a goon and kills themselves (hopefully not taking anybody with them) well it is their life and their own responsibility, and their own choices that they take. To get in a person's car who you don't trust or drives badly, is again, your own risk, your own responsiblity, and your own life. To try and make everybody suffer because of this is both narrow minded and avoiding the actual underlying issues.

Yup, but like i said before I SMELL BACON! and it stinks!

u know i know and the cops know that any car they canary can be back on the road within a day or 2 with the canary taken off, only people that benefit from it are the cops with the bs fine they give u now when they canary 2 "driving a modified vehicle - $160". They are saving no lives

yeh its really gh3y

have to be cautious and shit when driving always checking rear view mirror to see if that car was an undercover

or checking speedo to see if you're going over

its built a really fuct up driving mentality where now you can't even enjoy driving without thinking in the back of your mind theres a cop watching you or a speed camera waiting. its a farkin conspiracy

i just heard on the news that some councils want to give their parking inspectors speed guns so they get u not only for parking but speeding also, and some council bitch actually had the nerve to say that even tho it will raise alot of revenue its all about safety!!

The day a parking officer gives me a speeding ticket is the day i run the **** down!!

    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
