how ya going people?

now im in the market for some bushes for my gtr but there are just so many brands out there now offereing the lot! so i was just wondering what everyones opinions on the different brands would be.

yellow being whiteline, blue being noltec, unsure the name of the red ones. and then the nismo items

who has used what? and what were they like compared to the standard ones.

i like the look of the nismo ones but they are fairly dear compared to the rest.

the car will remain a street car, with lower coilovers and big wheels if this will effect the choice

well thanks for the help, James

well all of the nolethene bushes are pretty much the same, whiteline, noltec and superwhatever. they are a fair bit harder than standard but very good price

nissan and nismo bushes are more appropriate for a raod car but far cheaper. the nismo bushes are nowhere near as hard as the nolethene ones.

Nissan/nismo are generally speaking rubber nismo normaly harder rubber

nolethane etc. are urethane generally harderish than rubber

color is just a dye though urethane is available in a variety of hardness's (durometer) too, to my knowledge none of the brands advertise the durometer they use?

Not entirely skyline related but have found that things like body to chassis bushings go rubber, real chassis like a 4WD I mean, for comfort

If its a bush that holds steering angles etc urethane, especially for performance applications ie. Skylines

Just my 2c

i just did my front bushes in my skyline. i got super pro "blue" apparently they mainfacture the whitleine stuff for them. i took out my whiteline bushes "only 1yr old" in comparison the super pro was a little bit firmer than the whitlelines. so far they feel good and no noises. As far as other brands Ive heard stories about nolathane bushes decaying quickly but i cant comment first hand.

i used to work for noltec.

they make good quality stuff. and they should tell you what hardness they are when buying them.

from what i remember they have 70 and 8 durometer...

personally i think that superpro are the best. and nolathane are junk

Anyone had problems with whiteline bush's started to install my group buy camber bush's for the rear and one of the bush's was actually cracked about 80-90% through before I even opened the packet. Pissed, now I gotta chase down some more parts and pull it all apart again

Maybe it wont be so hard the second time :D

My brother is a mechanic and he recently attended a 'trade night' where they had someone from nolathane explain how the company has had a rethink and now their bushes are using a new softer urathane that wears better and is better for NVH issues.

    • Ok I FINALLY found a video lol. This took way longer than it should have as I could have sworn I saw multiple videos like this. I kept finding the completely opposite (the correct way of doing this). I wouldn't be surprised if I f**ked this up somehow.  I just realised where I've been getting confused and even with other things I work on. I haven't been doing things the regular way instead I'm going a roundabout way of doing things, like putting epoxy primer first then filler for example instead of putting just filler then primer on top of that, then wondering what happens if I get that primer on the clear coat that I haven't sanded yet. This was a bit of an epiphany 😂  But anyways, here this video. Time stamp, 2:56, some of the primer lands on the paint unscuffed above. You can see from the reflection it looks shiny.
    • It does, this part circled in red. I assume the OEM bolt might not work well with the poly bushing because the dimensions may be different?
    • The J arm doesn't have bushes either. Assuming that by "J arm" you mean the part of the upright that runs down from the upper arm's outer bushes to the top of the hub. That has a kingpin style bearing in it. If you meant the lower control arm, it has 1 bush, at its inner end. If you have PU in there, that is superior to Nismo rubber. If you meant the caster/tension rod - it has 1x bush at the front end, and again PU is superior to Nismo rubber. But as I said above, I would definitely get the GKTech arms for that, as sphericals slay all other options there.
    • Yep I'll find those and get back to you. To be honest I wasn't aware of data sheets until you mentioned it. I'm still new to this haha, lots to learn. My car is parked outside, it rusted in less than 24 hours lol. Only minor surface rust that was easily removed but I've been worried that it might rust from the inside out and screw me over in the long term (if I decide to keep the shitbox for that long).
    • Sorry I meant nismo bushes in the J arm, not the actual gktech upper camber control arm.
