Well everyones car will fit in the toxic waste theme too, cause it's not a car related theme... It's just something we can make look good with the lights and other things we have on offer...

I'm in the process of talking to certain people about our options... weighing up what we can do with each theme, how we can do it, and trying to get a mental image of it...

Hi All

I don’t want to step on anyone's toes but just letting you know that I have spoken to Cameron at Autosalon who is the National Advertising Executive and also a SAU member to give him a heads up and maybe it might help SAU and the people who attend to promote the club a little better. Nothing like help from the inside!

Doof are you being a d1ck? it helps to have some one who works at Autosalon that may be able to get pics in the magazine or direct the judges remember this is for the club as well promot is the key visability and exposure is what the club needs but I don’t know thought it would help but I guess I should just leave it with you lot then!

...

I was actually asking for examples... I thought this club was pretty well known, but obviously not...

We do plan on making up a few different logos for the show, and having them illuminated onto walls...

But I am not an advertising agent, i genuinly have no idea what you're talking about...

You don’t need to be a marketing guru.

I meet him last time at Autosalon and I have sent him a few emails from time too time in regards to what the club is doing to keep him up to date! He is also a member but he is very busy to check out what the club is doing so a heads up might be good never know he might want to put his car in the display. I did it to help you guys that is all !!! Manners are becoming like cheap petrol prices you never see them anymore !

So now you're saying we should invite this Auto Salon guy? I unfortunately, don't even know the guys name so i can't go out of my way to invite him, but you are more then welcome to :) even though it isn't an invitational type thing at the moment... Everyone is welcome.

Have i got the gist of it? I am getting seriously confused as to what you are trying to say here...

I guess this may sound unclear. Ill start it differently

I had meet a guy who works at Autosalon and I thought since he is a payed member and does not get on the forums much would be interested to know that the club might be entering and put his car in at the same time!

By doing this would bring allot of the other people to where the club is and might start talking and might even bring more members into the club future articles etc who knows. Just looking at it from a different perspective, But I am sure this is as clear as I can make it.

So now he will make an effort to look at the specific topic in the forums and might contact you if his car is ready!

Sorry if this sounds blunt

ahhh :( Much better :) My head is dead today ;)

Anyway, have you told him that we are entering? I know he signed up at Auto Salon in May, but that's pretty much all i know about him...

Would love to have his car if it's anything but stock basically

How have you been keeping in touch with him? Emails? or something more personal?

Funny boy!

Here is what is going to take place at this years Final battle

For Final Battle we’ll be running the Power Arena which will take up half of the Dome and consist of the Twin Dyno area, Mag Stand, Bridgestone stand, Industrie Racing stand, Dyno invitational area for National cars, Trade Stands for performance only, Circuit Battle / Drift cars etc.

So, there’s no Bling, pumping stereos etc in this area – just performance. We have at least 6-10 Jap cars coming along that have already breached the 1000Hp mark this year so it should be big! R34 RH9, PHATASS R32, JUN R32, GAS Motorsports Supra , DIABLO WRX, etc. It’s getting pretty serious now.

ahhh :P Much better  My head is dead today :(

someone wants a threesome!

and why if its anything but stock? I thought everyone was welcome? you guys only taking modified/pretty now?

If we get 6 or more cars, then yes... If we have under 6, we will either take what we can get, or not do it at all

It just has to be a tidy example of a car basically...

You entering?

This is what Cameron informed me what is going on at Final Battle which make the event sound really good, From a club / members perspective allot more people will attend this event with allot more coverage via the magazine! This is the time to really go all out weather you have high power, bling or stock. Appreciation comes in all forms and this also allows NORMAL people to understand they can be apart of a club without having to spend big $$$

I hope all the best over that weekend but I will not be placing my car in this event.

No, we need you down in DECA to kick some Victorian ass... It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it

Anyway, yeah, it does sound good... Wish they would publish this shit somewhere, like on their website... Trying to find info is damn hard... But i doubt they even have all that much done for it yet, still a long time away :(

He offered to do a press release for the above info so I am sure it will be happening! Im rushing to get the car done for DECA fingers crossed allot too do though! My list is longer then well we wont go there! LOL

Hey Doof and Jess,

sorry I couldn't make it the other night - I was feeling off, crashed out and woke up at around 8.15pm, completely forgetting about the meeting!

I won't be entering my car, but might come down for a sticky beak when the event comes around.

    • That's probably OK. That's a face to face compression joint between two surfaces with the clamping load provided by those bolts. So.... it's unlikely that the bolts will end up feeling that load in shear, unless the clamping surfaces are not large enough, bolts not got enough tension on them, etc etc to prevent the two faces from moving wrt each other. Which... I would hope the designers have considered, seeing as it's probably one of the most important things the upright has to do apart from resist collapsing in its own right. But yes, it would definitely be worth asking them what their safety factor on that part of the design was. I tend to think that the casting, being a casting, is not necessarily the strongest bit of material in the world. It's about an inch square, and when you think about the loads that are being put into it, you have to wonder what safety factor the Nissan boys (and every other OEM engineer who has designed all the millions of other uprights that look essentially the same) used to account for defective casting, aging, severe impacts on the wheel, etc etc.
    • Those bolts would be orders of magnitude stronger that cast aluminium though.  And its mainly clamping force, not shear they are dealing with?
    • Except all that twisting force that is breaking a cast piece, appears to be going through 4 bolts in the picture Johnny posted of the BryPar one...
    • The smart approach is to use the gearbox loom from the manual car. Makes it a lot easier - just plugs into the switches on the box and plugs into the main loom up near the fusebox. Then you only need to deal with bypassing the inhibit switch. The other approach requires you to use the wiring diagram to identify those wires by colour and location, perhaps even indulging in a little multimeter action to trace them end to end to make sure, and then.... you will have the answers you need. The R34 wiring diagram is available on-line (no, I do not have a link to it myself - I would have to do a search if I wasn't able to go to the copy I have at home).
    • Hi, i’m converted my r34 4dr auto to manual but need help with gearbox wiring. There are bunch of wires no idea which one for speedo drive, neutral, reverse can anyone help me. IMG_6860.mov
