OK, so mine is broke and the boat needed a tow home. BOO!

UAS have clutch pivot points for sale for 55bux.

Can I DIY? And do I need to take the box out to replace this sucker?

ALSO, how the HELL do you get the for retaining spring off? Is there a knack to it?

Cheers guys,

yeah you have to take the box out to replace it. 55 beans is ok nismo ones on here are the same price. the retaining spring comes off just how it looks just flick it off

yeah I put a nismo one on mine as well, as my OS twinny broked the standard GTR one. box def needs to come off for it.

Got it from JDM Concept, one of the sponsors on the forum.

Its easy enough to get it off but can you put the new one back? I can tell you that I can't but if you have very small hands you maybe able. Interesting to see if you can do it , even if it takes half an hour will be worth it .

think the genuine nissan replacement R32 GTR/R33 GTSt one was $22 or something including delivery to the workshop. The Nismo ones are $55 - $60 depending where you get em from (or $90 and 2 weeks wait from Nissan) and apparently 30% stronger. You only need the strengthened one if you're running a twin plate or a clutch which requires a lot of pressure.

Good thing I'm getting the heavy duty one! (I have a 2500lbs single plate with a ceramic clutch) - yes, its REALLY heavy under the foot!

I'll let you all know how I go putting the new one in (yes, this man has pretty girly hands - blame computers)

Funky,

I'm running the GTR Exedy 3puk button NSK-7121SC. Required do you think?

My last xtreme 9puk XHD I noticed the slave cylinders pin had been crushed back and had a slight wobble in it; possibly why I had slight issues with disengagement. The 9puk was heavier on the pedal than a mates OS Giken twinplate that he has in his GTST.

I'd get the nismo one cos its worth the extra $20 or so. Then again for $50 you could get two standard ones, but then again you run a risk of wearing out your clutch cos of a sloppy fork if it snaps.

I've noticed my twinner is a bit lighter than my old three puck HD as well... altho we did change the thrust bearing to an N14 pulsar one (slightly smaller in diameter) so I don't know how much that affected it.

lol exactly gerry....will be interesting but maybe not impossible

Anything is possible Duncan, especially if you have tiny hands , maybe he has a Japanese girlfriend ? I know I couldn't fit my hands in there. I never had reason to replace it with the box in so I never tried . It wouldn't be possible with a pull clutch i wouldn't think but he has a GTST with push clutch ... so maybe ... we will see ..

i had to do this. except mine snapped at the base of the bolt so it was just the thread left in the bell housing. i used a dremel to put a nick in the top of the thread and just screwed it out. i spoke to a mechanic mate and he said it was more than likely do to it being over tightened.

i had to do it in my garage (that's where it broke). so i took the gearbox out with the car jacked up about a foot off the ground. took me about 2 hours to get the box out by myself (with not the greatest selection of tools) and only about an hour to get it back in since i didn't have to keep sliding in and out from under the car cause i already had the tools there.

only cost me 90cents to fix though.

    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
