Just read my email, nice and cheap :( . I like the copy and paste job of the CAMS tarmac regs too :teehee:

I havn't gone through all the doco, are we still following the CAMS camera mount specs?

Also I see Glenny is in this year, he should be in with a show if he dosn't distroy his tyres.

yeah the plan is to maintain the regs as much as suitable as they were actually the targa regs before they became the tarmac rally regs anyway.

minor tollerences included though are optional radiators and oil coolers are back in, 15% tollerence on exhausts so off the shelf products can be used and thats about it from memory.

camera rules remain the same as they're a saftey issue, but include the sub-100gram non metal cage tollerence on lip stick and light weight cameras.

So, Quinny's "borrowing" the 34 for Rally Tas (starts today). Hope he keeps it nice and straight, don't really feel like a rushed repair job close to targa. :D

We are out, car only just put together after last years accident, 1/3 of the car has all new panells. Engine still in development, should be good for Domain Hill climb and the Mountain circuit challange.

should be safe, he only prangs on Targa Day 5. The car was on the news last night.

Yeh I saw that too and was WTF?

SO what happened to the porsche?

So whats everyone think of the AASA thing?!

From Mumbai - India: Oh my goodness gracious me...

Competition is always a good thing and I think that also applies to motorsport administration. I will miss some of the CAMS officials, but there are a couple who wouldn't get a job picking up trolleys in coles car park that I will NOT miss.

Benno - all someone has to do now is lobby for "adjustable camber plates" and it will be perfect. I think the 15% rules makes sense too. People want to here race cars as well as hissy production cars.

Ah well back to work, then off to Nigeria - UK - Holland and home... not ideal preperation, but better than none at all.

SO repeat after me "Camber plates are OK... common every one, I cant hear you

Congrats SB/MP & crew

Greg

We don't need ajustible camber arms, N1 arms = 3.2 deg neg :P . So repeat after me "we'r not helping any stinking EVO's" . A lot of the feild would benifit from them though, the EVO's in GTP seem to have heaps of camber.

lol evos are too quick already. any more help and they will be able to catch skylines :)

GTP/3E requires standard arms like targa, but they do allow mounting points to be moved by up to 25mm.

edit cancel that i forgot evos run struts right? strut tops are free in 3E

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
