easy to get the parts and have it engineered for road-worthyness, all GTT as you've mentioned.

just dont see the 500rwkw point tbh.... whats wrong with a stomping manual rb25det fully built with 300rwkw?

hell Id be dropping in a fully forged RB26DETT myself, twin GT3076's, high-300kw if it was my project.

gotta say 240rwkw in an auto, rb25det with single GT3076, mmmmmm NiiiiCE :D

i just wanna get to know about turbo's a bit more

ill prob end up stripping down the N/A engine and doing whatever with it - havent really thought about it yet.

ill keep it stock and go from there i think :)

This afternoon I did a few things to the 32 (Also discovered it has an exhaust manifold leak :)), including cleaning the AAC, and AFM, but I have a question about my air filter.

I have a K&N pod, I cleaned it with the detergent, and it is in the shed drying overnight. Do I put the filter oil on it before refitting it to the car? I have heard people say it wrecks the AFM or something if you do, but I'm just after some clarity so I know for now and the future. I am using a K&N recharge kit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

ah not really a waste of time
So that means my car was a waste of time aswell? me and a lot of other people think that engine conversions aren't a waste of time.

AWD, RB26DETT in a car that looks like a GTST, FTMFW! :)

dude, go tell that to every other person out there that does engine swaps in cars.

I'm pretty sure I wasn't referring to every instance of an engine swap. In 99.9% of circumstances I agree, engine conversions/swaps are NOT a waste of time and money. :D

u never had it either fishy, you never had your car :) granny shifting.......you know how it go's

hows the vspec looking these days? got stuck into that motor or what?

actually your right, i've never heard my car make those stupid flutter noises!! =D

and im not sure how its looking... dusty i presume.. i dont think i've seen it in well over a month and same with motor, nfi what happening with it =\ its all a bit depressing really =(

bloody breatho setup on pt road and down my street!!! WTF

I completely disagree - I wish they had the resources to put up 200 breathos every single night.

If you have more than 1 drink an hour and drive a car, then you are a stupid f**king tool who deserves to die. The number of people who still drink drive is bloody insane, and the worst thing is that the vast majoirt of accidents they are involved in the other party dies, and the drunk person survives .... this is completely the wrong way it should be.

There is no excuse - I actually wish they made the law 0% tolerance, like many other coutries around the world. If you want to have ANY alcolohol to drink, then don't drive. Make other plans. It is as easy as that.

I think they should quadruple all penalties, effective immediately.

or i couldve just sucked at fitting it last time. ha. ill borrow a scope from dads work and have another look. are the rear housings the same size between 25/28's?

edit, more quick research, 25's have .80 rears, 28's have .64's, definitely remember mine being .64, so i dont have a damn clue how or why it didnt fit before.

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
