picking up some gear from our friendly resident supermod tomorrow, will be fitting most of it as soon as i get my grubby hands on it. andrew's dropping by with my pipework on saturday, and then hopefully, if the planets align or whatever, on sunday it will move under its own power for the first time in 10 weeks.

ey Dave, have you received your boost controller yet?

i seen you bought one (from the same vendor) last week as well. i'm still waiting for mine - its been a bloody week... regular post from melbourne should take 2-3 working days max...

no, not yet. im giving him til friday, then ill be shooting off a couple messages. doesnt bother me much now though, getting an ebc tomorrow for $100.

cheers carl! might look into that. do something productive with my boredom. lol.

in prep for track day.........

anyone got advice for attaching bumper car bumpers to a gtr?

possibly go the cheaper option of duct taping cushions to front and especially the rear which i no scandy likes to gun for

sure thing steve, might be a week or two (assuming i get it within the next week) as i wont be able to afford to have the ebc tuned for a little bit.

That's cool, I'm in no hurry so whenever you're ready to part with it let me know.

Lol cara the Blow off valve its self has nothing to do with the type of turbo you are running so Just use a R34 BOV or whatever you can get your hands on, Maybe get an aftermarket one that lets it go to the atmosphere so you dont have to worry about modding your air intake to suit the plumb back factory style.

nah id rather go stock bov.

Cara, if you haven't done so already, keep in mind the Neo motors have a longer throttle body, so the intake piping to which the BOV is attached to is shorter than your average 33. Therefore the 33 intake piping wil not suit your Neo. Need a Neo DET pipe.

:P

oh ok....how easy is it gonna be to get one of these tho?

in the life of dan......

friggen house company has taken 4.5 months to finally get the paperwork to the builders ready to start building, not impressed. apparently they were also thinking of sending me a added bill for it taking so long when ive only taken 24hrs with each bit of paperwork and nagged them reguarly to get off there ass.

i needed to vent :P

    • R34DE as in R34 with an RB25DE? So did you get this? Or you planning to?  I'm not really sure what you're saying.
    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
