Nothing wrong with saying "Mr Squiggle", just confused is all.

I have been testing centrafuse on my laptop, which will become my carpc. I am not too sure which to use though, i want something that is going to be easy to get working with the haltech software so i can get the gauges etc working.

Centrafuse or Ride Runner will give the best compatibility for that sort of stuff imo, but rr is butt ugly. Is your laptop one of the ones that turns the hdd off if it detects a bump (most new ones do)? Cause even around the city streets it's enough of a bump and totally killing my music video playback and lagging software. Thinking maybe a mini-itx setup is in order.

LOL Matty, where did you go?

Just quietly, we need to convince Luke into getting a 4x4.......he's apparently contemplating the idea!!

a lil spot out near edinburgh. have to show ya sometime........give the 200 a nice brown hue to it

just went and cleaned it after work at the big bucket at bedford park. mental note, dont use the very right hand wash bay unless they've cleaned it up haha

1 hour and 28 bucks equals a clean car (engine bay and outside, and MOST of underneath that i could get to). The rest i'll get on friday when i chuck it thru the auto wash for its weekly clean

anyone recommend a wireless key board and mouse?

Logitech or MS like Luke says. incidentally the MS keyboards are all made on logitech fabs

I like a wireless mouse and a wired keyboard, mainly because the logitech g15/g19 series are awesome and a standalone mouse usually has better resolution than a combo wireless mouse

and as for car pc's, you'll want solid state drives all the way, but im not sure if the eee would be the best bet for a permanent installation - theyre good in the glovebox but if you want a permanent solution then a dedicated car pc or a mac mini with aftermarket ssd would do the job quite admirably. Best mount point would be either under a seat or behind the rear seats between the rear strut towers and just run a db25 vga and usb to the front to the touchscreen head unit

Some cock tried to steal the 33 on the weekend. :D

A club lock and alarm kinda ruined it for them :worship:

I'll remember to turn on the surveillance to the outside cameras from now on ... so I've got an idea of who's trying. :)

I have no idea if it will do that, plus a HDD skipping would hardly miss much/if any of a song or movie. The laptop i got is a Acer 5315, got it free from work, i am going to upgrade the cpu in it when i can be bothered pulling apart a HP at work.

I am going to be placing the laptop in the spare wheel well, may also move the amps into there aswell, and have a mdf/false floor in the boot. Then run a VGA and usb cable tot he front of the car for the touchscreen.

Does anyone know much about ET pulsar's? a friend of mine has one that isnt working and is wanting to sell it, i am thinking of buying it and fixing it.

yeh i do a bit, had a blue one with a high mount high flowed t25

the gearboxes are crap especially reverse, and the factory computer is also crap as it is located under the passenger seat which is easily knocked by the passengers feet which in turn pulls out the loom

other that they are a great little FWD car

Yeah my mate was saying that the ecu was crap, i reckon i'll buy it and fix it up, i want a car i can pull down and rebuild easily so i can learn, ain't gonna do it with my line, that's my daily. I may then sell it to a mate for his 1st car.

Thats not a bad idea, the only thing I would be concerned about is the heat generated from the amp and the computer. you may be better off putting the amp in a conventional position like on the back of the rear seats or under the passenger seat - otherwise you might need to think about mounting a fan inside the wheel well under the false floor

Jack88 knows a great deal about maximising position, I suggest you give him a msg and send him some pics n see what he recommends

+1 for his build quality too

Thanks for the suggestion, gives me something to think about now. I was going to use the guys at Strathfield at Noarlunga for the install, but i'll message Jack later when i am going to do the install.

    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
    • Probably. I take it that they are also mentioned to be for R34 Skyline? For example.... RDA has that part as RDA7957. I have the dimpled and slotted version of that on my car https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285518478694?srsltid=AfmBOopKxMuAFpsxZJdB1cam4D5RAj1f9yJyOttPZLAwXVNCOiwlhrIy This is DBA's top one piece equivalent https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364246686631?srsltid=AfmBOorbb0XHQgqTvZLgQPhg70nqJtGvdojKnugum3O2LFSr2h-obp8D
