A big ROR at those 2 in the same car.....that's like Ruby & Rhys going fishing together on a quiet Sunday afternoon. :D

Skaifey should've rigged his car to explode straight after the last lap cause Murphy reminds me of a couple of douches :D

lololololol

Yeah.. giving it a good high pressure hose down.. but i was a couple of feet away (like I usually am) and the paint just flew off.
Same thing happened to mine, took it to dazzlers after I'd got it... it had a couple of existing chips but when the sprayer hit them they flaked open

I wouldn't naturally assume its the ex owner, could have easily been someone in japan or any prior owner..

Well I took my mums VZ commodore to a carwash cafe. They used a pressure hose and paint flaked off on the door handles a little bit. This is on a 1 owner car that was just over 3 years old.
same thing happened to me with the high pressure hose flaking more paint away from a small crack in my front bar. i have never washed my skyline at those car wash joints since then. Those foam brush broom things are terrible too

+1 to all the above stories. My grey GTR rear spoiler had a little bit of paint flake off due to the high pressure hose. Every time I washed the car from then on a little bit more would flake away whether I used a sponge, the brush or hose. Remember that Japan's climate is harsher on paint than ours (snow, cyclones etc) and both my cars sat on the docks for extended periods before they could be brought into Australia.

I still use the high pressure hose but I take a bucket and sponge and use Soft Wash Gel rather than the brushes - just means that I always have to wash the car at night.

I use the high pressure hose but from maximum distance - I never use the brushes because 4wd owners have a tendency to scrub mud off with those brushes and not rinse them - that aside, the brushhairs are rather coarse and can scratch the better paintjobs out there...

in either case, i've found that elbow grease of some sort is required...

i use the pre-soak at dazzlers, wipe it down with a chammois to get rid of the brake dust, exhaust dust and assorted grit

then the soapy high pressure hose, and use a flannel with either some degreaser or bam to get rid of the stuff that is stuck to the paint... then i rinse it down, apply a hot wax and then rinse it off with the spot free finish

its very frustrating when your paint flakes (and it can happen with a hand wash too) but from what I've read, most japanese based resprays are done on the cheap because the owner is simply trying to get rid of the car

Looks porn Dave!

I wash my car in my driveway, using a hose, bucket and meguiars lambswool wash mit. Before I get dobbed into SA Water, come take a look at my 3X 24,000 litre rainwater tanks. :D

Ive never used a self serve carwash on any car Ive owned, and Ive never put the R32 through a auto one.

the rims say yes.

the spoiler says no.

possibly lacking front lower lip? still hawt rims and car combo

haha, many people seem to share that opinion. but the spoiler sorta works with late 90's thing ive got going on, when factory aero and mesh wheels were cool.

makes the rear end a helluva lot more stable at speeds aswell.

but yeah, its missing the front lip. trying to find one, and i aint buying new from nissan, $500 for a lip is retarded.

i dunno mane i quite like the spoiler... looks diff to the stockers you see out there without the spoiler

i reckon if it was curved more and slightly lower to the boot it'd look better, but i cant fault the look of that car

red ones go fast

-D

front lip would be a win for sure, spose its SA so you can go too over the top but moar low w/ lip scraping on ground would get me wet. no lie.

lol, its plenty low as it is. scrapes on everything. but yeah, definitely want a front lip, only thing im not 100% satisfied with.

haha, its funny, up until a couple days ago, i owned 2 of 6 of those wings in aus.

Car is almost all ready for inspection. Changed all suspension arms over - Caster, front and rear camber, traction arms, coils, toe arms, removed cage and put stockies on the front.

Just stuck on removing this boss kit that isnt moving :D wheel is off but bosskit is stuck. After that just need to wire up a rear eye level brake light and put back seat in.

Hope i can get it cleared by the end of the week.

All good mate. Just makes me do things i wanted to do already to the car alot faster. Now all the suspension it out i can clean it all up makes sure there all working properly. Just little things i need to fix like the front window tint, its 35% and needs to be 70% and wire up a eye level brake light.

After that i'll take it outside, all wheels off and high pressure everything. Then back on the hoist for one last inspection.

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
