haha at |337

You can get either the Lambo or the Fezza in 6sp manual, but over 80% of buyers opt to spend an extra $20k+ to get the paddle op semi-auto 'box.

350Z's got heaps of aftermarket support... RX-8's not so much, but there's progress on the renesis front.

rumour has it mines is already working on some aftermaket goodies, and impul on a luxury package to complement it as well.

yeah i just got my first shipment of BLITZ supercharger kits (selectable on/off switching too :) ) and they are sweet, the rx8 turbo kit has been a steady mover over the last few months also....

the 350z kit is sweet and due any day for rhd release (atm only lhd) and the 4.5liter stoker kit is nearly finished also.

but why would u want a 6pd as opposed to paddle flappers? seriously? do people think they can change faster then 0.2 seconds and as smoothly? or is it the fanboy thing to want cause all real drivers use them?

i could understand if it came with a farkin 3 speed auto out of a VL ffs.

So now your a homo/fan boy for loving to drive the old skool manual ?

I bagged out the new GTR because it *might* not have the 5/6 speed and it wasn't for either of the reasons you listed.

Have you ever driven a car with DSG ?

just a side note...

has anyone noticed how similar (esp the fenders and side lines) the new GTR is to the Toyota FT-HS concept car?

It'll be at the Tokyo autosalon along with the GTR.

2 Years aye? i may be able to afford one by then.

For christ sakes what is wrong with all you people not being able to accept change and technological advancements, its a farken supercar! built to do be exactly that! if it needed a manual gearbox to be a supercar it would have one. You people are trying to tell a car manufacturer with billions of dollars worth of r n d and expertise in building cars how to do there job better??

"The target is Porsche and other high-end buyers with a free 100k to spend on cars"

Nissan is trying to make a new coveted car by pricing it out of the enthusiasts range. This car has no name with people over 35 or anywhere the vehicle has never been sold. Do you really think a large number of doctors, lawyers and other rich individuals that can afford to purchase BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche will jump on the Nissan bandwagon?

Look at all the clowns that ride ridiculously priced Harley Davidson's when Japan makes bikes that are light years ahead. They are elitists that feel their machines are "real" motorcycles due to the history, pedigree and price.

whoa! where did YOU come from???

My reply was towards WazR32GTSt (with no disrespect intended).

My paradigm is American, maybe that's why I'm jaded. Motorex screwed up importation for us.

I lived in California for 3 years, 45 minutes north of Los Angeles. I saw many a rich puke in the Santa Monica Mountains with cars well above double the price of truly a exotic JDM gray market import. Some of them thought they could drive them too.

Seriously; if a person was able to afford a European sports car I don't think he'll floss the strip in the new Nissan GT-R. That crowd will still buy the Euro because people will recognize it and the babes will flock.

the gtr has engraved itself among all car enthusiasts. They may not want to buy it for whatever reason, but there is no doubt they acknowledge that it is a car made for serious performance.

    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
    • Yeah, I would have said the same. It makes me suggest that there are other things wrong, such that the ECU is totally unhappy with the broken sensor. The only other thought here is that maybe it is shorted, which might cause a different issue to the typical "disconnected" sensor.
