Your cruises are puttin a hole in my pocket!!! Oh well at least ill have all the go fast bits in then .. James .. I vote you arrange some kind of track day - drag stip runs that is  Wednesday at the WSID

Manu is excluded from this unless he really tells us whats in his 350z .. stock my ass.

Should be able to make it im sure.. Sunday is a much better day for crusing - Minus the traffic getting out of sydney :P

i'd be interested in this, would probably meet up with you on pennant hills road as you head north. you could go via old pac to break up some of the F3 if you wanted aswell, altho everyone would have to make sure they behave especially considering its a weekend.

Count me in lads!

Even if we cruised to the Cop station i'd be there hahaha

Manu! Hope you can make this one brother. I miss the Z :D We can talk 2008 GT-R as well!

Yeh Nath, i reckon a track day is on the cards this summer! That's 2 votes James :w00t:

Looking forward to this one, esp. seeing the 33's come out again :)

you guys must look past our track day threads, theres always heaps up...

I'll be out again for this one - silly sundays :D

p.s. track day in summer - not good!

Im not into track days and runs cuz.. YOu should know that, maybe we can organise a night at Eastern Creek for some proper runs on a wednesday night.. I'll let you know about this in the not to distance future.

Port Stephens is about 2 - 2.5 hours away. I wrote it in my initial post, if you read it all! LOL Its 80kms north of Newcastle.

Nathaniel,

I dnt even have full exhaust yet. i still need the y pipe and cats still. Its still stock bro but i should be able to keep up with your car :-).. Car is getting supercharged in Jan if i know i haven't lost my licence yet and then i'll race ya :-). i got fined in last skyline cruise to blue mountains by undercover and i still haven't received the fine after 1 month now.

I am hoping they looked at my innocent face and decided not to send me fine in mail.

Omar - bro i got exam on 26th Nov and moving in my new unit as well so doing few renovations bro that weekend. But count me in anytime after that :-).

WTF? Adding a blower to the VQ? :P

Cops usually send fines within a week or two...maybe u got lucky!

Manu, Not any more my friend .. ill leave u for dead, Phil would even be a walk in the park.. :spank:

Just need the speed limiter removed :)

I dont particularly want to do track days with pro drivers i.e most sau, I always want to keep up to much n take stupid risks so rather learn on slower days.

I want to run my ride at the strip .. we can get James to show us what a stock 34 runs haha

hey dude i am in newcastle and was wondering where will you guys meet up at in the bay yet us know and i will come up for a drive thanks.

Hi Scottie, I'll let you know as time draws nearer.. It'll most likely be the BP station at the end of the F3.. But I will confirm prior to the cruise..

yer im from Newi too and was wondering if you could make a 3rd meeting point and change your thread etc to say Sydney, then Newcastle, then Port Stephens? Cos that way all the newi cars could cruise with yas. i reckon make it twin Shell Servo's at wallsend. I'll be definatley there if ya do and i'd say there would be like a few others keen too. I'll put the word around?

Cheers. Kier

Rumor has it Newi has a shitload of nice lines, I think its best we dont stop - I dont want to feel inadequate.

Anyways

Don't worry Nathaniel, with that GT-T you're already inadequate :D

    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSP male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSP reducing bush?
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
    • You are all good then, I didn't realise the port was in a part you can (have!) remove. Just pull the broken part out, clean it and the threads should be fine. Yes, the whole point about remote mounting is it takes almost all of the vibration out via the flexible hose. You just need a convenient chassis point and a cable tie or 3.
    • ..this is the current state of that port. I appreciate the info help (and the link to the Earls thing @Duncan). Though going by that it seems like 1/4 then BSP'ing it and using a bush may work. I don't know where I'd be remote mounting the pressure sender... to... exactly. I assume the idea here is that any vibration is taken up by the semiflexible/flexible hose itself instead of it leveraging against the block directly. I want to believe a stronger, steel bush/adapter would work, but I don't know if that is engineeringly sound or just wishful thinking given the stupendous implications of a leak/failure in this spot. What are the real world risks of dissimilar metals here? It's a 6061 Aluminum block, and I'm talking brass or steel or SS adapters/things.
