Dump/front Pipe Install Help :d

howdy fellow vic members

well today I got my just jap dump/front pipe and high flow cat and me being the impatient kind wanna get this installed so I decided to call around a few place asking for quotes to just install these things for me. Now iv read and its 6 bolts on the turbo holding the dump/front pipes and flange and brackets underneath so thinking it will take only 30mins or so for a pro to do so I rang around.

now I understand its a small job so not many ppl wanna do it but just to try and squeeze extra money out of me they are all spinning shit about its a turbo of job. the turbo fas to come of to put the dump pipe on no matter how much I tell them no it doesn't they still don't listen and the lowest quote I got was $135 just to unbolt my stock pipes and bolt these up.

So I was wondering if there would be any one kind enough to install these for me? Ofcoarse you will be paid with a nice cold slab of beer

im in Rowville and work in the city and can come to you. Would love to get this done before this Friday for the night run im organizing.

Now its all factory setup atm but the bolts were undone 2 weeks ago when the turbo was removed to change manifold studs so im assuming undoing the bolts will be easy as and won't be jammed and rusted up.

Sometime it can be a bitch, you'll run out of patient and f**k things up further more. Hoist make lot of hard jobs easy.

don't forget wherever you are taking it to.. you will need to allow time for the zorst to cool down.. so don't expect to do it over lunch

For starters you need a hoist to get to the bottom bolts. Need a workshop full of tools.

yeah dude, apparrently its a headcase to do without hoist and zee tools, i'm getting race pace to fit mine on next week when they do my retune..

Yeah without a hoist its a LOT of dicking around mate.

It'll take half the time with one as you dont have to go up/down/up/down on a trolley jack. But it can be done (like all things)

I'd offer to help, but im too busy at the moment and wont be free before friday lol! Way too short time!

Don't be a tight ass, pay the $135, it's a bitch of a job without a hoist and those turbo bolts can be hard, can be tricky to get the heat shield to fit again too.

i didnt use a hoist to put my dump/front on. i just used a set of car ramps. no head f*kcs for me. was easy as. took about 1 hr all up. ash, if u need a hand yell out and ill give ya a hand.

I had mine fitted by an experiences mechanic.

1. You NEED a hoist for the car.

2. It will take around 2 hours to do the job if you know exactly what to do.

3. You may also need to bend the air con pipe (it is not a straight bolt on as JJR claims)

I can only assume that it will take some money to do this job unles you have friends in "high" places

yep - i had that problem with my aircon pipe, have to get that fixed up.....

thanks man ill just do it on saturday after we do the wheels. will be easier on the hoist and that way i can clean some oil near the gearbox aswell

also when you say you had to bend you ac pipe could it be kinda like pushed out of the way or was it in the way alot that you had to bend it?

how much did you bend it?

Yeah no worries man, will definitely be easier on a hoist!

There is a place up the road from my house where we can get the wheels done, unless you know somewhere thats good

Rubbish, a friend did my front pipe, and cat back system in like forty mins, while I watched him, shit easy job... with no hoist
