The DiRTgarage GTR of Paul and Stacey Diemar is to be retired from racing soon due to the inability to attract a major sponsor or workshop backing. This decision is made with the utmost regret but was, and is necessary due to the new arrival of baby Elsie. The financial commitment to continue with the car is something that we are not able fully support. The car will be "mothballed" for a 12 month period and the decision will be made then whether to return to the track. The car is due to appear on the cover of HPI and a full shoot and cover of Ignition DVD and one more track day to be announced as the final runs for the car.

The cars most recent outing at WSID was world class and set a new benchmark for street orientated GTR's with a best of 9.97 @138 MPH 1.41 60'

The car is 7th overall in the HPI drag records and is mixing it with such names as Jacobsen, Wilson, Munro, Woolett and Garcia. Its the only privateer car in the list and/or the only one without heavy sponsorship or workshop backing.

A big thanks to the Australian Skyline community for their support in us and our car

cheers

Paul and Stace

good call Paul, it takes balls to say you've reached your goal and enoughs enough. Race cars are bottomless money pits that always cause compromise in other important parts of your life

well done acheiving what you have

no way... Thats sad to hear..

best of luck getting sponsors so we can see you back out on the track again

We have a proffesional "sponsor pack" that we are circulating. Also since posting this thread two organisations have displayed a keen interest in a partnership with us on an event by event basis.

So we will have to wait and see if its something we can both benefit from.

Shame your not in Brisbane cause we could have worked something out...I have a 550 sq meter workshop

What are house prices like up there...lol

"twoogle" is the nickname given to the car...our number plate TWO:06L was misread by a mate to read twoogl, he started it and it just grew from there. Its even listed in Fast Fours drag records list as "twoogle"

Oh damn, I should have shown more sarcasm. :laughing-smiley-014:

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
