was down at powercruise on saturday saw, many skylines, a blue 32, white r33, black r33 gtr and silver gtr r32,

maroon r33

the black r33 gtr was awesome , sounded like some big cams and boost, kicked ass down the straight, the silver gtr 32 won the drag part over a pretty quick blue VL turbo, anyone see that? some angry rbs held there own out there. :domokun:

Blue VL turbo runs an LS V8 with a big evil single turbo and a 2 speed, has gone as fast as 8.8 on the strip I belive... Oh yeah and it's street legal he drives it to the track for test and tunes :O

Definitely a good day. the R32 GTR that won the drags, was built from the ground up by the owner. 100k + has been spent so far he reckons. Running a Percision 6XXX turbo. cant remember exactly which type.

Last Thursday 7/2/13 I saw 4 Skylines in the matter space of 15 minutes.

Saw that same white Skyline with the black bonnet on Kedron Brook Rd (Next time I see them I'm going to ask if they're a member) then 4 car spaces up a grey V35 coupe with P Plates.

Then I saw an amazing sounding 34 GT-R on Webster Rd turn the corner and there's a ice blue V35 on Stafford Rd (Grange)

Ha ha yeah. I'm still not used to seeing so many imports. I still get that excited girly giggle when I see them all together and a small puddle of drool forms and I have to change my pants every time I see a 35 (it's like seeing a celeb)

So 2 Skylines and 2 Maximas :P I see heaps around my area, not many members though.

Ive noticed this too

spotted R35 GTR today, followed him onto the highway at Bribie island turnoff. numberplate was "1GTR". sexy :)

She's talking Bout V 35s. ;)

sure she was... :P

I was in the Clem 7 earlier, R33 a few cars back. I turned my stereo off and put the window down just so I could listen to that exhaust note....then it all got spoilt by some lumpy ass Ford Ute with its V8 burble burble cough grunt.

The R33 "Chutter" I thought was a bit disappointing. Sounded good was cruising but when he was flogging i in the drags it was way too loud for the speed it was going.

It's very quick actually. Ran 10.1 @ 146 a few weeks before Powerplay. The owner owns 101 Motorsport and also has a 32GTR that runs low 9's @ 160mph and is about to go 8's very soon with the latest mods. Runs a 6 speed Hollinger in the 33 but was having issues at Powerplay including a broken front diff so was only rwd and struggling to put down the 800+HP it makes at the wheels. It's broken a box and a few other things in the last month so it's having some issues sorted. Keep an eye on it because once the issues are fixed and the boost gets wound up past 23psi I'm sure you will see it running low 9's at 160+ mph.

I'll take the sound of a tuff v8 any day of the week over a 6 banger.

old school muscle sure, auto commo with little to no exhaust......no.

and i have the right to an opinion, a screaming RB26 still wins IMO

You obviously haven't heard my auto Commo then :P None of this chopped muffler stock engine shit with heaps of drone. Fully built LS1 with a custom exhaust. It's so tough it makes Carlos Ghosn squirt a little bit of white sticky substance in his pants everytime I start it :D

    • I hope it's actually possible. This is a write off in insurance world.
    • Yup. 2-way with shallow ramp angles. Still works.
    • That was the first session so not a lot to take from the day. It was low 20s ambient and the coolant had got to 110 (and obviously had some pressure!) so that still needs to be addressed. I haven't downloaded the data yet but will. I had refilled the auto trans with Redline DT6 because it claimed the best viscosity I could find at 100o. It wasn't really long enough to get a good feel for that; while the trans got to 100o in the session it still wasn't shifting crisply as I hoped. I think I'll try a few more sessions before judging. No steering motor overheat but I'd hope not in only 1 session! But finally the suspension; it was night and day over the standard stuff and the car was a couple of seconds quicker on the same crappy tyres, which is a huge difference. I'll stick with that and get some sway bars and a mechanical diff sorted too and see how that all goes together
    • I guess it’s partially a compromise of how my car is used, wanting to be able to switch from drift to grip with track side on-car adjustment. Also partially with the way the knuckles are set there is more static camber but less dynamic camber gain.
    • OK, so update from the track day on Friday It was a classic "an unfortunate series of events'. There were a few cars around and when i checked my mirror coming out of the fish hook I notice some smoke from the rear of mine. Looked again and it was getting much worse, I figured I'd blown a turbo or something to got off it and pulled off the racing line. However.... since it is a left hairpin into a right kink, I was on the inside of the next corner. There was a car passing me on the left and a big drop off over the ripple strip on the right......and someone had knocked the witch's hat that was on the apex about 1m onto the track. So, between those 3, I decided to mow down the cone and not damage my car/the other car. Right choice, but surprising result.  The car decided the cone was a small pedestrian so it blew the rear bonnet hinges up to protect their head in the upcoming person to car impact....I didn't see that coming and like an airbag deployment it happened super fast. Straight into the pits from there, everything was driving fine but it became clear it was a coolant leak not smoke, it was billowing up onto the windscreen. Onto the trailer and home. I'll do a separate thread about the repair (once I work out what it is ), but the immediate problem was the bonnet wouldn't open because the front was pinched onto the front bar and would not release. Ultimately we unbolted the hinge from the bonnet, pulled it back a little and it released from the front OK. "There's your problem", the top radiator hose had popped off at the radiator.
