Kkr's aren't shit ..

however the kkr430 would have been the better option... unless you want to use it for just drags etc. it's not going to get great response with a stock engine,

John Cane runs (drifter) runs a kkr430 on his Rb25det in his laurel and it goes awesome!

Read specs here > otomoto

I beg to differ.

This guy is making 219rwkw using 19psi and only making full boost at 4500rpm: That is complete SHIT!!

A turbo that only makes 220rwkw should be on full song by 3300rpm. That power is equal to a hi-flowed rb25 turbo at 15psi and look how responsive those are; WITH A STD MOTOR. Not to mention the extra boost required with the KKR shit, is putting more stress on the rest of the motor and creating more heat.

I have previously heard these KKR turbos were laggy, for the power they produce; this has just settled the debate. At the end of the day they are another cheap, China shit turbo that are inefficient and can't make the power with acceptable response.

HKS :D

KKR :(

looks like its hks time lol

when i drove his car with the 2530 it felt like a stock turbo but had alot more mid range/low down torque felt nice, he was only running stock injectors still so car was not really making much more power then mine but felt nice

looks like ill go with the hks item:D

is mid 12s @ 115mph possible with the 2530 turbo?

looks like its hks time lol

12s are possible on a stock turbo :D

only making around 295rwhp

yes its laggy bout 4500rpm full boost

the car with 2530 on it i took it for a drive last nite, very good low down torque and mid range wheel spins coming on in 2nd but yeah

i dunno wot to do lol

help me!!! some ppl say 2530 2 small for rb25? im only really after 300rwhp would 2530 get me there easy enough?

what are your other mods, other people in the rb25 turbo dyno thread are making 260rwkw. what are you maxing out?

car come over with 200,000kms phil told me that 6 months after i bought it lol

yes u mite get 12s at 106mph with stock turbo but i want big mph not shit mph lol there is a difference

2 weeks ago i ran a 13.5@102mph in a complete stock r33 on 10psi:)

but it never felt fast cause mph was shit house.

basically the dyno i had my car tuned on made X amount of power

a mate had his car dynoed on same dyno and made 203rwkw or something like that

he went and got a power run on milanco dyno which is a brissy tuner and made 240rwkw or there bouts.. so that mite be my 260rwkw who knows... remember its only tunning tool

RB30 it and keep the kkr :D

Even with an rb30, the turbo (kkr) is still shit. You'll make more power, better response, and use less psi; if you use a Garrett/HKS/Trust/Apexi/etc turbo.

I am currently building an rb30det and am using a Garrett GT30R (500hp). I am expecting this combo to be more responsive than a rb25 hi-flow, on a rb25; yet make 300-330 rwkw :(.

f**k the rb30 lol

my car is budget and it does 500kms a week its my daily so yeah

well i would be happy with 112mph and 12.5-12.8s and 2sec 60ft's lol

better then my 13.3s and 2.4 60fts

mid 12's at 115mph?

I have an old timeslip at home from WSID, running my hks 2530 on 100% stock motor, no special suspension just re55's, if i recall correctly i ran 12.5 @115mph, with a 1.9sec 60ft! i will try and dig up the slip later to confirm.

If i remember, peak power at the time was just under 218rwkw. Its not the peak that you feel with the 2530, its the punch it gives you mid range, which is fun and makes for great overtaking :(

I enjoyed the 2530 every moment i had it, but the 2835pro i have on it now, :D -but then if its a budget consideration forget it..

Reading this thread the answer is very clear. Whats the point of a daily driver that hits f*kk boost by 4500? Especially if its only making small kw's go for the response

you still have not mentioned what other mods you have, if you are still running standard injectors, afm and fuel pump then that will be a problem, also do you have a boost controller, wouldnt be hard to set up an avcr or something with lots of settings wrong.

LINK ECU, MAP sensor

700cc injectors

3" dump/exhaust/gutted cat

button clutch

gktech cooler kit

lol at 700cc injectors for 210 rwkw.

but dont stress my last MPH was 116 for a low 13...hahah more to t a good time than a lot of power... I would go the HKS...get some good response and have a nice fast street car.

As mentioned , the figures you quoted are way crap.

looks like its hks time lol

I had a 2530 setup on mine, making 225rwkw at 19psi. Best with this setup was a 12.55@113mph. Was a nice easy street setup.

    • Hey keep the ideas coming, I'm always keen on projects! But, problem fixed!  I got a cheapie ozito scope from Bunnings and had a good look in and around the bearing and sensor hole. I couldn't see a smoking gun but the bearing looked a bit strange, especially when comparing with a new one. I thought the cover had come off the bearing magnets.  Sorry for pics of a screen, I didn't have an SD card.     Good thing I had the old one to inspect. So, given I'm like a pit crew with wheel bearings and luckily I had a spare bearing because I f**ked up my parts order, I decided to just smash it out. Got the old one out in about an hour. So much easier when the parts haven't had a chance to rust together yet. 😂 And, well, found the problem.    In the second pic at about the 8 o'clock position, you'll see what I think is the tip of the old sensor.  The new sensor has definitely been rubbing but it's all intact, just a little shiny so I'm hoping it's fine.  The car brakes perfectly now and no errors.  I think the job took about 2.5h in the end. 👍🏻 I really appreciate the help in here as usual. Thanks guys.
    • I was only looking because I saw some drops on the ground but it wasn't alot. Recently had it serviced will ask the mech to confirm. Find it strange that it looks standard though, can see in another photo of a random box
    • So...not sure if you know if that has always been there or why you went looking. It could be old damage from a clutch explosion, or even just the gearbox got dropped somewhere along the line. Basically, you should seal it up to stop oil and dust getting into the bellhousing, but it doesn't matter too much and is not structural. I'd suggest something like a glob of JB Weld. BTW what gearbox oil are you running, I would guess the breather has been spewing it everywhere.
    • Hey Duncan thanks for your reply. Sorry mate I know the photos are shit.  Took another photo for reference. Seems the casing does have a hole in it looking on the net, fluid seeping out. Added a photo
