Think about pretty much every successfull car that has ever been produced.they gain a fanbase and a reputation and then cancel them.only to revive and reinvent them a few years later.just to sell more and make a scene.

its good for sales and marketing.they wont be bringing back two cars at once cuz i believe you can make more money by having revived cars come back one at a time.

think about it this way, once the new gtr gets old and every ricer and his grandma has one then they will come out with something else to make everyone cream there pants about in anticipation.aka silvia.

just my two cents..

cheers!

I think its time for a bit of R&R for the nissan design team as their recent cars are really starting to look seriously ugly or maybe now that i think about it this all started when nissan became involved with Renault.

It's not as hot hot hot as the S15, but the exterior has to share cues with other new Nissans (Z, GTR, 350GT) to fit into the family.

Shame Nissan is running with the idea of marketing their sportier models to more affluent buyers. Nissan are trying to cut the kiddies (us) out of the equation to make their label more prestigious and therefore more appealing to wanks with money (them).

They need to make the Silvia a fun little four-banger like the article says, otherwise they're just going to encourage us to tune like crazy and bring back the 90's Nissan flavour ;)

Silvia is dead. Nissan engineer that designed the drivetrain for the new GTR said it won't be happening.

*sobbing* i have to agree with you *cuts wrist*

Hahahaha ;)

Maybe all the grannies will cream :(

This is from the lastest Wheels magazine

lol, yeah and an R35 engineer from nissan told me point blank, that the GTR wont come in V-Spec guise at last years Tokyo Motor Show. And i am a prospective customer.

BTW, this engineer was part of the drivetrain department! Same dude, maybe!

looks like wheels and I both have been milked, lol./

And before i forget.

you guys have dedicated 4 pages of hypothetical script to a concept rendered by pens and markers and only in 4 photos and yet, funnily enough you are writing off the new concept lik its going to give you the clap or something!! LOL, its so fuhneh!

i remember the way the r35 looked when they showed concepts and everyone was like, poo this and crap that and garbage whatnot and nissan should be shot, etc etc, but now look at all the R35 wannabe owners creaming their jocks to get a GLIMPSE of one on the docks in sydney!!

all i can say is L O F***** LOUD.

:P M3GTR bear in mind that as fuhneh as this is, look at who's saying what- i.e a bunch of Silvia enthusiasts that love the looks/performance/creaming pants ability of the old models. They're attached to what they know, and it'll take time for the new one to grow on them (if ever).

All those mofos that hated the GTR proto needed time for it to grow on them...and that only really happened after it was released with a spec list that PROVED Nissan had taken a leap forward (for better/worse).

Let's wait and see how Nissan pull this one off with the S16. Hopefully we'll all be holding our nutsacks on the Anzac Bridge looking down at those glowing white docks like now with the R35.

From the second shot, i like it. AMG cues in the nose suit well. Not so much the Civic Type R badge area.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
