Hi all,

Just want to know if anyone has used the forward facing plenums off ebay and what the quality is like?

Also was there many mods to get them to fit?

Would it be better to go say a plazman or a RIPS one from new zealand?post-42704-1196716965_thumb.jpg

That what they look like if your not sure what i mean any info would be great.

Thanks Guys and Girls

i have personally talked to the people on ebay selling this one he said the only modification is you have to bed the water pipe and showed me where on a pic. then about a week later he is selling the plenums with the modified water pipes. i currently dont have the money to shell out for one of these. a buddy of mine bought one of the jun ripoff ones from ebay not from pnt_performance and he said it costed another 1200 to have a shop modify it to make it work. its up to you if you wanna try it. i would personally buy from pnt_performance when im ready to purchase my manifold tho. unless the ausies have some proven aftermarket ones that are redily availiable and they know from expierience they are good.

Unless your planning on making 300rwkw from your RB20 then a front facing plenum provides no gains.

I mean it does give you minimal if any top end... But it has been proven time and time again that a front facing plenum on an RB20 actually hinders the response/what little low down the car has.

IMO your money could be spent else where.

Thanks guys,

I will be aiming for 300at the treads i did a head gasket in it and im pulling the engine out and giving her some forgies ive got a bigger hyper gear turbo for her and some nismo injectors and going to put tomei cams in it.

The main reason i want to get rid of the cross over is the space issue it looks neater and the pipes dont pass the engine twice the less pipe and bends the better.

I reckon the "power gains" are all ass dribble too, I just loved the bling factor and I wanted short ass intercooler piping and what not.

I can change injectors with ease now (not that I plan to change them often), and spark plugs don't require me to move intercooler piping, bov etc. Last but not least it looks the business.

Call it wank factor, Call it what you want. At the end of the day each to their own

At least its not a claim from WA....where they get 220rwkw out of stock RB20DET injectors, and 200rwkw out of stock silvertop RB20DET turbos....

I was making 205rwks from stock injectors and AFM and you only have to read through a few threads here with people pushing 200+ from stock injectors.

Sure its not healthy hence me going 550's and a Z32 with the new set up ;)

Dont waste your time and money on a forward facing plenum if you ask me, there are 1000000 of people running the stock plenum with big numbers and no problems with clearance issues.

If you are going to run one then do yourself a favour and talk to Kemp

Ku Engineering (Very similar to the one you have pictured)

and yes the bottom metal hose needs cutting and welding, I learnt that the hard way

haha it lives, does it make noise yet..... stop posting and make noise.

haha it lives, does it make noise yet..... stop posting and make noise.

LOL....Just gotta finish the cooler piping (waiting on my stainless pipes) then its time to wire the E-Manage and start the bugger (I dont think the std computer will like the Z32 AFM and 550cc injectors too much) :P

I will be aiming for 300at the treads

i personally wouldnt be looking at a plenum i would be looking for a different engine

any turbo u put on a RB20 to try and make 300kw is going to be laggy as hell

ive got a 2L sr20 making over 300kw and it still spools up faster then any RB20 making near 300kw

legend01 makes 301kw atw from memory using a GT3040 and stock cross over pipe

then again it is a rb21.

im using a custom top half (not a cut and shut) with stock runners.

1st off though buy a garrett or trust turbo, rather than spending the money on a fancy plenum.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
