Endless Brake Callipers - Info Wanted

Some questions about the Endless brake callipers:

1. Is any one out there running them - if so do you have any comments?

2. Are any of the Endless range of brake pads any good?

More particularly I would like to ask for their "inch up" 343x32 rotor + 6 pot calliper does anyone know:

1. What pad size is it?

2. Can you get other than Endless pads - particularly the Ferodo DS2500 or equivalent?

3. How much piston area do the callipers have?

It is too bloody hard finding information on callipers most days. :rofl:

im currently running endless disc and pads in my ap's. not sure what type they are but they are awsome and pull the car up really well but i have not used any other pad in my ap's so i have nothing to compare it too.

i saw an add. in my option 2 mag about the endless, i go dig it up and see if its got any information for you ;)

DJ...judt buy them. The prioce that kit is going for you cant lose. BD4s in Sydney use to run them on their GTRs, and whislt the cars never say that much track work in anger...they cannot be a bad thing based on the fact that most HKS demo cars run them

Yes they are good value for money. But my principal concern is getting some good pads to go with them. I finally found some Brembo rears & there was a set of Endless pads in them. They look for all the world to be nasty old school metallic type pads.

the 6 pot calliper looks to have a 152mm long pad. But that is just scaling the photo, so I don't know.

Just give Centrax Auto a call on 07 3349 7888, they are Endless brake distributor in Australia.

I run 6 pot 355 front 4 pot 330 rear. they are fantastic

Endless brake pads on one of the top pads, especially the race compound, the pads are superb.

Well I have heard good things, but.....I have two issues (OK, I have more issues htan the Readers Digest, but I digress).

1. The quoted friction coefficients are low - in the 0.35 - 0.4 range. Compared with the 0.5 I have on the DS2500's it looks horrible & low.

2. I need the pads to be useable on the road (ie work from cold & not squeel much) but also not run out of friction coefficient on the track when they get hot.

I sent an enquiry to Centrax, but they ignored it. Guess I will have to ring them aswell.

higher friction coefficient doesn't mean better braking performance, consistence is the key. If a pad with high coefficient of 0.5 and performance drops off to 0.2/0.1 when it gets too hot, then what's the use of that pad.

Key point is to select the right compound for your application.

Richard, If they fit under 17's and you don't buy them, then let me know :P

The ones in the photo are just some random stuff from Yahoo auctions - they appear to be a 6 pot calliper on a 324 rotor. Not what I was after, but they would be a good thing none the less....so don't let me stop you.

Yes but according to the nice people from Ferodo the friction coefficient is stable across a large temperature range. That is one of the reasons why I like them.

but I can tell you EBCs are shit.

I'm pretty sure you have to run Endless pads if you use Endless caliper system.

If you run AP racing, Alcon, Brembos, maybe Ferodo do the pads for them?

Yes they do. For all of them. Which is why I asked the question. I don't want to have to be locked into the Endless pad range because of the calliper.

Couldn't find out. The people who supply Endless pads pretty much only supply Endless pads. Whereas those that supply Ferodo stuff can't help much without a pad shape - which I can't find. There are a few sites with pad shape info on them, but matching to the calliper is too hard. I haven't yet run anyone down who admits to owning an Endless calliper.

There is info here, but I am stymied because my puta neither has a Japanese language install nor could I read it even if I had.

Maybe try Tony Flood in Perth if you are keen. He is usually very knowledgeble/helpful.

Absolutely. Anything you can manage is all good. Have a look at the link from above because a couple of them have drawn the pad outlines of data sheets. May make it easier.

Also be curious to find out what the piston sizes on these things are....

      A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.

      The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?

      So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...

      the Tomei LSD fluid with lsd kit. frustrated that it was shaking the car to crap and affecting everything else negatively, I pulled the diff last night, and removed the lsd carrier, could not find anything wrong, however it seem to be 100 locked up acceleration, and deacceleration, wondering if they sent me a 2 way not a 1.5??  either way I installed the stock open carrier back in place. test drove everything smooth as butter again. no shake, shutter, random, what felt like clutch slip and grab or drive shaft play, etc. something differently wrong in side the lsd. I might bother taking it apart (if possible) to figure out what's going on inside this carrier, as bought too long ago to return.  only draw back is its back to a one wheel wonder.
