r33747
if you like the sound but hate the stall. Get yourself a HKS rev controller. Its designed to rev up sleighty through gears changes and help prevent stalling. Works really well in my car. funkymonkey
sorry to dig up the thread... but a mate of mine just directed me to the TiAL Alpha Q Pumbback BOV. It seems to be the beesknees of all plumb backs. they also sell it without the v band flange so you can run it inline. Alpha Q Recirculating Blow-Off-ValveHigh Flow and a Happy MAF Sensor New for 2008 is the first ever recirculating blow-off-valve offered by TiAL. This unique 50mm BOV flows 6% more than the current vent-to-atmosphere BOV we offer, bolts on to any standard TiAL 50mm flange (slip-fit beaded ends will also be available so you can run it in-line with couplers). It will be available in all current colors we offer. Check back for more information to be released. from left to right, "the bong", TiAL's new atmo BOV and the current TiAL atmo BOV Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197754-best-plumb-back-bov/page/7/#findComment-3628310 Share on other sites
TTT
I'm happy to remove the arm and leg you will no doubt required to purchase it. one good thing I can see. is that even at free reving, it vents just like a stock one would. so it should not have any fluttering like some of the other aftermarket plumback ones. The Mafia
thats the stupidest looking BOV I have ever seen - and it would be a prick to install on standard plumbing Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197754-best-plumb-back-bov/page/7/#findComment-3629335 Share on other sites
GeeTR
Whoah, what a thread to bring up, hilarious stuff. Per title "best plumb back" Everyone has their preferences. Cheap, name brand aftermarket device that works, the Trust R is hard to beat. They're like 230 clams, almost half that of a local made Turbosmart one. Compact and simple, does the same recric job a BOV is sposed to, but in a smaller form factor then stock. This is for a spritley BNR32 though where the twins, plus the y pipe take up a heap of room where a o.coiler should be Edited February 7, 2008 by GeeTR Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197754-best-plumb-back-bov/page/7/#findComment-3630030 Share on other sites
jake_gtst
Hi. For those who are having problems with 100% atmospheric blow off valves, give the 50/50's a go, yes the problem will still be there as some of the air that has allready been measured will not not reach the engine, but it wont be as bad as a full atmo valve, plus you still get your "pchhhh" sound that you like. If you really want the sound, and dont want to affect drivablility, just get a full plumb back Bypass Valve, and get one of those BOV noise generators. This way you still get your noise, retain good driveability and it will end up being cheaper. R338OY
if u want a bit more sound why not consider the GTR blow off valve? Can someone explain the difference between a gtst and gtr BOV? R33 4 me
I have a R33 gtst and with a pod filter you can hear it spool and also hear the bov act like a atmo type ( it is 100% stock bar the pod). limpus
Any takers on this one? I'll bite...short answer...they have larger flow paths and are less likely to leak...they are also interchangeable but you need a larger plumback pipe... But if you had searched you would have found your answer...
