OK ...I am back from Sydney town. A couple of things......

1. It is a 1pm meet & greet time...so if you are running late that will be OK...we NEVER leave in the first 30mins.

2. I read lots of drivers apologising for the condition/state of their ride. ALL cars are welcome incl. ur daily.... most of us do the mods we want when we can afford them.....most cars are still in progress of being built/modified.

3. My mobile number is 0431 396 417....if you want to know anything or ur running late or wanna join us mid-cruise.

4. It is meant to be 30C on Monday

For those not going to Melbourne or Murray bridge on the Australia Day week-end you are invited to join us the "dr1ft_pig13 OLDS" for the late Ben Simpson Memorial Charity Cruise...help us raise awareness of Youth Suicide. (..before u get too concerned it is only a gold coin donation for the map).

Although Ben was a member of NS.com, he was primarily an import lover so SAU are MOST WELCOME to join us.

Date: Monday 28th January

Time: 1pm meet

Where: ETSA Park - Mile End

Route: (naturally) through the hills ending up in the NE suburbs.

Tradition: It is traditional that a teddy bear (soft toy) be carried on an empty seat in the car

Coin Donations: Giving to the White Wreath Assoc. for Youth Suicide Education

Hope you can join us !!!

OLD Jules & Mark

1pm is the meet & greet time......we are hoping to leave some time after 1.30pm...but you know what cruises are like...takes forever to get started !!! Equally if it is bloody HOT then we will start ASAP after 1.30pm.

OLD Mark

It's even going to be crusin' weather.....

Forecast for Monday

A fine, warm and sunny day. Light to moderate southeast to east winds and

moderate afternoon sea breezes.

Precis Fine. Sunny.

City: Min 15 Max 30

Elizabeth: Min 14 Max 31

Mount Barker: Min 11 Max 30

Noarlunga: Min 15 Max 29

...almost the entire route is through the hills, in the shade....makes it even betta !!!!!

OLD Mark

Well what an unbelievable day !!!! The weather was excellent, the turn out was massive, in excess of 200 cars !!!

We are truly humbled by your continual support of us and our cause Youth Suicide Awareness....Ben (like us) would have been deeply touched. Apologies if we did not get to speak to you personally...but to each and everyone of you please accept our sincere thanks for attending, donating and making it such an enjoyable day.

In total we raised $387.65 which is unreal for a bunch of broke import lovers BUT we want to make it very clear, this cruise is NOT about $$$$$....its about raising awareness of this silent epidemic killing our youth....and the stikas and cruises certainly do that.

Special thanks to those who made the effort to get permits and those who stayed on at the pub.

Now we were asked today if we could post a pic of Ben for those who never knew him, it is not something we would normally do but on this special occasion, we will...

Now, i remember last year, we had an SAU only cruise to raise money for this same charity, would love to do it again this year!

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
