I think that the same reason people despise the schum is mostly the same reason hamilton is widely disliked

The old argument of "Micheal keeps on winning because he has a sub-par teammate willing to do his donkey work for him, with an entire team who's sole goal is for their number 1 man to win at any cost"

The ferrari fans would argue "well because he was good enough to get himself into that position with his speed and techncal know how"

The same method of thinking is now for some reason NOT applied to lewis

Stop and ask yourself "WHY was he nurtured from such a young age?" and " WHY was all this investment thrown behind him?"

Surely the people at Woking are not fools. You dont become one of the most successful teams in history by backing duds. Ron obviously saw a kid with talent and did everything he could to make sure he was looked after financially.

Those who dislike him for what opportunities he was given are fools. One eyed, uneducated, dumb as dog shit fools

I have a question. How is it that KR and FM have both won 1 race, finished 2nd twice and 3rd twice and yet KR has 35 points and FM has 34 points..???

:P:(

My point exactly Ivan. Its pretty ignorant of us to not look behind LH and see that Mercedes and RD were watching him all along. They spoke to AH and bobs your uncle - a deal was struck placing LH firmly in their fold. The rest didnt excatly take care of itself either...If LH was a dud behind the wheel, not even the best machinery on the planet couldve helped him...

Peeps gotta quit hatin on Hammo coz Merc and RD knew he had da Goodz/../_

KR has a 2nd and 3rd

FM has a 2nd and 3rd also

yeah.. wierd. Wjy has KR got 35 and FM 34?>???

how cool is it to see webber up in 6th in the WDC! and having scored points in the last 5 races with just the one non-points finish this year so far (which was a mechanical DNF). this must be his best start to a season yet by a long margin. it will be so great if he can keep plugging away in the 4th-8th region and keep bagging points he will find himself up near the top of the table at the end.

he is only 5 points off 5th place but a fairly meaty 17point of kubi.

you will find most scuderian's choose not to acknowledge this point

... as it may detract from von schummel's all around awesomeness

Did anyone know hamilton actually started racing R/C cars before his dad bought him a go kart when he was about 6.

The guy has raw talent hes only 22 remember, just because he steps into a front running car and talks like a bit of a cocksmoker isnt a reason to hate him.

I also dont think that was a noob mistake by KR looked like he was trying to do the right thing, im sure he knows as well as anyone he just needs to finish and get some points every race. His sedate driving of late confims this for me.

Im sure hes learnt a tough lesson but he deserved it. LH on the other hand had absolutely nothing to do with the internal politiking going on...he was too green to know any better.

I think you are being a littlke naive thinking that the case. You only have to look at the events last year and its clear. Speaking to some ppl that know better then me during and after the Aus GP ....well lets just say that Lewis was every bit as ambitious with regards to last years championship as Alonso was. And Lewis played his hand before Alonso.

Thinking he was to green to know better? He was too green to know that what he played a hand in was only going to hurt his WDC chances. And Kimi going to the strippers and drinking? LOL so what. Again you not being realistic if you think Lewis doesnt party hard, he also has a shallow penchant to accumulate trophy roots and BJs. Again, whatever, he is a young man. But he is no low key innocent, right now i am thinking Kubica is old school cool. He is there for the racing.

Hamilton should stop all the Senna BS and just admit that he really wants to be James Hunt :P

Again, i dont hate Hamilton because of the RD/McLaren thing. I think he will only be at his best in years to come, when perhaps he isnt in the best car (If he sticks with McLaren like he claims). He will only be at his best when he has been galvanised by some more tough racing and wins and also the beats.

I think i have made it quite clear why i dont like Hamilton. Actually, its not dislike, he just annoys me. It made me laugh when at the start of the year all the talk about Hekki being a great team mate, McLaren being a team strong together etc etc. The immediate expectation was that he woudl support McLaren and Lewis's quest for a WDC.

I will haev bet money that if 4 GPs in Hekki was taking points and GP wins off Lewis then the tone would be different again. In fact i will have LOVED to see at Monaco if Heikki didnt have the problem on the grid what woudl have happened. He could have possibly been ahead of Lewis on the road at the end of the race, armco strike and all. I wonder if Lewis would have cried foul that he wasnt allowed to win the race because of team orders again this year?

Roy, i was talking about being involved in McLaren gate. LH had none of the emails that were being passed back and forth between FA and PD. I wasnt talking about their racing feuds. Yes, they both had hands to play but why FA thought LH was a threat should have been obvious by the way he was getting hosed by a rookie.

l

The last time that happened was with JV and even he, with all the talk of a tough guy - outspoken, controversial, middle finger pointed at more than one person - even he ended up WDC,,,

So for the record woudl you like to tell me who was involved in the spy scandal last year? Which drivers, which engineers and which team staff/members?

Well, you could argue that the whole team was involved but we will never truly know will we>?

I honestly cant say with any confidence that LH was at the centre of it. Im sure of that much.

FA and PD were involved - they admitted as much because they were given amnesty. Remember Max "The whip" Mosley threatened them with sanctions should they choose not to speak up?

And that is Robbie's appeal, how can't you like the guy, fast, fair, to the point, no bullshit, unpretentious...

    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
