Shame for Nick, he touched ont he fact that it could have been his win if he had not let Kubica past to get the gap for the second stop! He was able to keep Alonso behind so coudl have porbably kept Kubica behind. But hsi approach to the racing is probably why the team has come so far so quickly

Misec feelings for Nick. It was really his race to win, but seemed logical that they free Kubica so that the team would have the best chance of getting both cars on the podium.

Will be interesting to see what comes of the Lewis-Kimi accident. How seriously fo they take F1 cars comign together in pit lane?

cant help but think it was a little khama that bit kimi in the ass for ramming Sutil in Monaco

Suppose Hammo was due for a brain fade moment to knock back down a peg back to reality... his refusal to accept FULL responsibility for that idiotic momnet was proof of his inability to take the bad with the good

I am waiting to hear what Dennis and the team have prepared. Past mistakes have been instances "of the team letting Lewis down". Surely they cant protect his from this mistake. Perhaps they put oil on his visor when they gave it a wipe in the stop?

Oh, and Piquet Jr? Poor kid is still struggling. But very tough conditions, and coming into F1 in a year of no driver aids is of courde making the rookies life harder then other rookies of recent years

the renault recovery would have been treated the same way as the car earlier in the race. send a recovery vehicle out on the track under the protection of yellows if it is is a "safe" place to load up, the drag it off the track.

this idea that cars must be behind a safety car before anything happens around the circuit is rubbish and it is refreshing to see a track brave enough to allow it to happen at the top level. what is much more important is that drivers treat yellow flags as a warning of danger, not just a chance to go as quick as possible to catch the car in front

/end rant

LOL...TOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Roy, you picked a shit time to go to the toilet.

red light at pit lane exit. raikkenen and kubica stopped at the pit exit line side by side but hamilton and rosberg didn't see the light and ran into the back of stationary ferrari

I am vomitting blood as I saw it..................how incredibly convenient for him to crash into Kimi...........seriously.......is this the year for Noob mistakes or something??

The interview with Lewis really shits me, is it me or did he sound supremely arrogant and non apologetic about this incident.

Massa has definitely proven other wrong, he's got the balls and the skills, I'd say he was the driver of the day. Its just a shame the miscommunication screwed him over, he could've definitely got podium by the way he was going. What ever happened to Webber??? one minute he was 4th then he just disappeared. I'm beginning to like Alonzo more and more, now he's really showing what he's capable of with his slower car, driving the tits off it.

Good racing by the BMWs duos, they deserve a win after all this time playing the third fiddle.

ITV commentators were better behaved this time around, at least they still put some effort into it unlike a few previous times.

summed up nicely in the last paragraph. i reckon kimi gets double disadvantaged. not only does he not get points to compete with the others for championship, but also is unable to capitalise on louise not getting points and widen the gap between the two.

not entirely sure why rosberg is penalised so harshly though as i personally think that he wouldn't have contributed much (if at all) to louise's car not being able to continue racing. their statement even confirms that (see underlined). that is of course assuming the penalty was given due to destroying someone else's car.

Hamilton and Rosberg penalized for pit-lane collision

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton and Williams’ Nico Rosberg will drop 10 places on the grid at the next round of the championship in France as penalty for their pit-lane incident in Canada.

Hamilton ran into the back of Kimi Raikkonen’s Ferrari, which was stopped at a red light at the pit exit. The resulting damage put both men out the race, with Hamilton admitting he had not seen the light in time. Rosberg then ran into the rear of Hamilton’s stricken McLaren, but was able to rejoin the race, despite damage to the front of his Williams.

Commenting on the incident, Hamilton said: "As I exited the box, I saw two cars jostling for position ahead of me in the pit lane. Obviously, I didn't want to get involved in their tussle, and was trying not to do so, and then all of a sudden they stopped. And by the time they'd come to a halt, it was too late for me to avoid them. It's just unfortunate when stuff like this happens, but I have no argument with the stewards.”

"There's not much I can say," was Raikkonen's reaction. "My race was ruined by Hamilton's mistake. Obviously, anyone can make mistakes, as I did two weeks ago in Monaco, but it's one thing to make a mistake at two hundred (miles) per hour but another to hit a car stopped at a red light. I am not angry because that doesn't achieve anything and does not change my result! I am unhappy, because I had a great chance of winning."

"all of the sudden they stopped" quite the innocent bystander isn't he, makes it sound like kimi slammed on the brakes or something

What an absolute flogger.

So you were to blind to see the red light (clearly it was high enough to be seen as we saw from some onboard footage) but how the hell did he manage to not see the 2 cars that were already stopped long before he got there.....we're not talking about pulling up a loaded semi trailer here either, it's an F1 car.

Full credit to Kimi for his reaction straight after it. I'd say the majority of people would have gotten out of the car and ripped the pretty boys head off his shoulders.

Louise, in his interview, seems to have ignored the fact that regardless of him thinking he was in for 'an easy win', he was passed by both KR and RK in that pit stop, and was now in outright 3rd place. Kimi was absolutely flying before the stop, and was obviously heavier than Louise, hence the shorter stop and the resulting pass for P1/P2, depending who took it off the line once the light went green.

Massa was on for a decent spot, but after the refueling error it was game over for him...

Webber was looking good but seemed to drop back pretty heavily after all the pit stops

It was a good race to watch, even though I contemplated calling it a night after LH's idiotic mistake.

LOL. To me these sorts of weekends will galvanise him and he will end up doing a MS and win a scary amount of races and WDCs.

Only it is one part painful to see him making a mess of the job every 3rd or 4th GP when the team could be kicking ass. It is also one part comedy to see a genuinely gifted guy learn so publicly in a winning car...but kills me as there are other more experienced guys who may not win as many races, but will have less bad weekends. You only have to look at how Lewis started last year to see what collecting points, not max points but top3-4 finishes does. Hell look at Kubica this year. He is doing exactly what Lewis did last year, down to winning his firsat GP in Canada

What is a complete mystery to me is where the hell is Heikki? He is now making a habit of having bad luck :D How long can we keepo calling it luck until you have to question some pit wall tactics combined with some poor feedback from behind the wheel?

ahh cmon adam give us some fresh quotes to save us pulling out the ones from monaco :D

on an unrelated topic, does anyone know if senna ever crashed into someone who was waiting at a red light.

Lol, Dunc, i recall Senna smashing a few people into the walls deliberately...

I think Hamfists was trying to take out both of them but then realised Kubica isnt in the WDC hunt anyways so he fecked Raikkonnen.

Great bit of skill there by Ham-solo.

Either that or a good deal of brain fade,,

What IS it with Canada and red lights???

The bagota bruiser a few years back and the Ferraris last year...

Now Hamstring this year..

on an unrelated topic, does anyone know if senna ever crashed into someone who was waiting at a red light.

ROFL :) He did try and punch Irvines light out after Japan! Does that count? :)

I never reallyt liked Irvine, he was a good driver because the Britush press needed a good F1 driver. But i loved the guy off the track. How about " What a start to my Grand Prix career. I got punched by Senna in my first race, crashed in my second, destroyed four cars in my third and got banned from my fourth. People are going to think I'm some kind of nutter." :D

    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
