Cracker of a race though, pity Webber wasn't up there. Makes me wonder if he didn't bin it at the end of Q2, probably wouldn't have been in all the traffic as he was showing some pace, but ohwell.

Massa's beginning to prove a few people wrong, had quite a few passes and in trying conditions, is good to see.

Yeh Massa, along with Kubica he is my guy this year. When the chips have been down he has been good in traffic and confident, made a few msitakes but comes straight back. Last night was a great race for him and now equal 2nd in the championship as they head to tracks where Ferrari are at their best.

You are however in the very small minority, and I dare say there's only Hamilton fans that agree with you..

Yes I'm a Ferrari fan, but there's no doubt that LH and NR deserved to be penalised.

When it happened I thought, 5 grid positions at the next race, the FIA decided 10.

You are however in the very small minority, and I dare say there's only Hamilton fans that agree with you..

Oh come on man, LOL!

A small minority!? Only Hamilton fans that agree with me?? How did you come to that conclusion?

Honestly, in the spirit of avoiding a flamefest lets drop this here, yeah?

I dont mind if we dont agree on this - at the end of the day, Kubica took his maiden and BMW their first 1-2.

I remember reading this guy called Dr Lawrence on Pitpass and he has always said BMW will never win a race.

I bet he's eating his shorts right now, lol.

all it took was far all the guys infront of them to crash out or suffer major setbacks

Yep, but dats the way teh cookie crumblez.

Lucky Koobie!

I bet Nick is Effin pissed right now... sif he wouldnt be being denied BMW's and HIS first because of what may transpire into team orders...

I would have preferred for NH to get the win because we know it may have been his one and only chance...

Conspiracy anyone?

I like NH...he's mr Invisible until #SHAZZAM#, he appears on the podium like a regular little genie.

he didnt deserve to be treated like that

if kubica is so good, let him get past on his own merit

letting him past must have been the most crushing moment of his BMW career

Thats alright./..hes got Rubes and DC to drown his sorrows with...

I wonder how NH feels being BMW's new bitch on teh block?

Shit, where the bazza when you need to start a shit fight?

Hamilton's accident was quite amusing however im very disappointed that Webber did not managed a 4th or 5th but instead got no points at all. Rounds like this where a couple of top drivers crash out are the rounds that he really needs to capitalise on.

Quoted from the BBC website. Ron Dennis.....

"It's difficult for a driver to decide whether to focus on the lights or on the cars ahead in situations like that"

WTF

It's not difficult for the rest of us mate! The light was red and the cars were stationary.

Quoted from the BBC website. Ron Dennis.....

"It's difficult for a driver to decide whether to focus on the lights or on the cars ahead in situations like that"

what a load of crap, if thats the case, then f**k me side ways I must be the next Michael Schumacher because I can focus on lights and cars ahead AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!

if this was on the track then yes I'd have to agree, but since it's in pit lane then NOOOOOO

I guess Hamilton decided to focus on neither of them then ?

Maybe it's just silly old me, but if he focused on the cars he'd have seen them stopped in front of him well before he got there, and if he focused on the lights he would have known to stop without the assistance of a Ferrari rear end.

wow this has been an interesting day in the old f1 thread :D And I disagree with soooo many things.

first - not team orders, nothing needed to be said. no way is a teammate going to stay in the way of the other driver if they are on an extra stop strategy. nothing dodgy there, if heidfeld had tried to hold him he may have ended up with both of them loosing. BMW hedged their bets to get a win and both strategies showed very similar results. good on them even though I dont like that arrogant kraut thiessen.

secondly - kimi at monaco. just bad luck. its not like he wanted to throw away the points. when you are racing sometimes you f**k it.

finally - louise and pitlanegate. I'm the first to say I get the shits with the snot nosed bastard.....but this was a really simple mistake. He was on cold tyres, doing 100 (way too fast to be safe) and something totally unexpected happened while he was distracted. and as i'm sure the RTA will tell us you travel 16m/ second at 100. He would have been doing the whole reprogram the car via the steering wheel thing and not paying any attention to the track until he was expecting to be out of pit lane.

consider that their pit lane speed limit is the same as the aus open highway limit. they are not going slow at all.

I'm here boys! been steering clear of the thread as I taped the race and just watched it now.

Firstly, Well done Kubie! Nice work you sexy hunk of polish man glory. He has been threatening a win for a while now and it's quite fitting that he did it at the track where he nearly killed himself just 1 year ago. He really is one of the best in the field and I think he has a great racing style, and a good attitude to go with it.

Well done to DC too. He always seems to capitalise on races with abnormal condition and/or leaders crashing out. Not bad for an old bloke.

Very dissapointed with webber. I sincerely hope he had a problem of some kind because he should have been up there in front of DC. I missed some sections of the race but webber must have had a problem, or really bad strategy and timing because he was looking good to do a 'bradbury' and score some good points in the wake of the carnage. Very poor that he finished second last out of all the cars that finished.

As for Adams boyfriend louise. what can I say? I remember fondly all your talk about Kimi's racing accident and called it a 'noob move' and 'noob mistake' well personally I reckon if you looked up either of those descriptions in the dictionary you would see a picture of hamilton running up the back of a stationary ferrari. It was a really rookie mistake. I would even say piss weak. and even more lame that he took kimi out with him (though very convenient for louise). I haven't read all the news but from the above posts it sounds like he's getting penalised for it? I'm not sure how I feel about that, i'll get back to you on that one.

Anyway, forget that rubbish. GO KUBICA!!! and well done DC you old sly dog you... :)

Hamilton said: "I was trying to be cautious. I looked at the red light and I looked back and they'd stopped.

"There were two cars side by side. If they'd been in a line I would have seen it a bit faster."

Raikkonen was not impressed.

"I saw a red light and chose to stop, someone else saw a red light and chose not to," he said.

curtesy of onestopstrategy.com

oh dear - I'll hazard a guess that , had they been in a line, he would've obliterated both of the cars

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
