I was one level away from a black belt when I was about 12, so yeah, you've got to be pretty hardcore to posses a black belt :)

Shame you dont have a superlicense in your back pocket as well then, eh? :D

How much did the brown belt cost you, anyways...?

Ironic coming from the guy who likes to flog him.

I read that and i was like, "So what?"

Man, lets all read into LH talking about what was obviously a patriotic question from a journo about who is the best British marathoner and turn it into a shit slinging competition on SAU.

Lewis more than likely said that tongue in cheek and you pounce on it like drunk on chick.

Seriously, grow up - HTFU and quit looking for excuses to stick the boot in.

Its pathetic.

Sorry Adam, you are not my daddy and it’s a public forum. So you don’t have to agree with me, don’t have to like what i say, but you have to accept the fact that i am entitled to that opinion. :D

Here is the thing. He is on the out at present with the press, yet lets himself be drawn into these sort of discussions, so he is either supremely arrogant or stupid. Either way his keepers need to start helping the kid out as whilst he can drive he is presenting himself with the situation that will only detract from his ability to concentrate on the race weekend itself. The more he gets media and people off side the more of the distraction and the resulting increase in frustration

You put the spin on it, he is joking. ...but read his words. There is no satire or humour to what he says. His response to hearing Button came 117 out of 1700 entrants was "That's pretty good," Then went further with "I think I'm fitter than Jenson - but I've got to prove it," Has to prove it? Has to what? Why?

So he clearly has taken a simple question about how people like Webber, Button etc like competing in endurance events outside F1 as an opportunity to blow his own trumpet. So then goes on with "So if someone wants to get us going up against each other I'd look forward to it," That is a clear and defined statement, i cannot detect any sarcasm in those words. “I look forward to it” sounds like a purposeful statement! Not “if he beats me on the bike leg then I can always go and get the McLaren and line that up against the Honda” or some light hearted statement to that end.

HE IS BEING AN ARROGANT ASS. Hell, if he was carrying on like this last year then hats off to the kid, he was leading the championship in his first year and mega consistent. Was kind of hard to question anything he could have said about his ability, he was winning! Then since late last year he has mixed ordinary with exceptional and at present is getting beaten by a BMW and two Ferraris. Its heads down, bumbs up time.....not talking about how he is all all encompassing centre of the universe.

….and seriously. Not agreeing with you does not make me immature. So I resent being told to grow up. Pretend all you like that your opinion is somehow divine and the rest of us cannot comment on this guys press statements. If he kept to himself like Massa, Kimi, Heikki then I would agree that kicking him his unfair. But this bloke is putting himself in the fray so we are perfectly within out rights to comment on his media releases. :stupid:

Roy, thats just plain wrong.

For you to say he shouldnt be criticized, ridiculed etcetera...

"If hes winning..."??? and

"If he kept to himself..."???

Roy, wtf?! How can any F1 driver Keep To Himself???

Not everyone is monosyllabic like Kimi.

LH is winning. Hes won 2 of the 7 races so far and is only 10 points off the lead for crying out loud.

Its beyond me how you think just because hes not up to your standards in the eyes of the press and the public, its okay for you to lay into him and his life just like all the other haterz. :stupid:

Thats what really sucks about your argument. :D

Again...my opinion. I am not making a statement of fact....so how can i be wrong. I am expressing a view which i am quite entitled to do.

Just like you express yours. Disagree? I don’t really care. It’s interesting to read others views, including yours.

Keep to himself, yes its easy. Many drivers do it, many champions have done it. And I don’t strictly mean not speaking to the media. If interviewed and asked about another driver, he doesn’t even need to be goaded to be condescending. He should have simply said “yes, it was a great effort” and moved onto questions about this race, his home GP.

And your reference to his two GP wins this year. Yes, one was a good victory, one he could, should have resulted in a DNF, not a win. But credit to the guy that he recovered, kept his head and came home in first. But the rest of the year has been bordering horrible.

Aus – Great. Malaysia – solid. Bahrain – Hopeless. Spain – Solid. the sphincter of the universe – Solid. Monaco – lucky, but brought it home. Canada – Hopelss. France – Hopeless

So by my score, he is one great weekend. Three solid, good weekends. Three hopeless weekends and one hopeless weekend which he turned into a win. So I measure his season by where he should be. You seem to measure it by where he is, fair enough. We just view the racing differently. He threw away a solid result in France, and a solid result in Bahrain, and what could have been a very good weekend in Canada. So should be clearly in the lead of the championship, only he has robbed himself. Not mechanical failures…

And finally, my standard? Yes, I hold sporting stars to a standard. Its not a very high one as they are just mugs like the rest of us, only they have a sporting talent the rest of us don’t. You don’t have to earn my respect, everybody has it, but its easy to lose it. Basic good manners and a humility blended with humour make for the people/sportsmen I really like.

Now feel free to take that as some sort of personal attack on you and use the term “hater” as though I am a bigot or the like

But yes, a sad time for me. My favourite driver in F1 is retiring. LOL i understand your defence of LH, i have been a one eyed DC fan from his first race at Williams :stupid:

And whilst at RBR, its interesting that Webber has come out and said he is interested in a better drive if its available. I feel a better seat exists at Renault if Alonso is still there. However Alonso is still playing his card for a drive with BMW alongside Kubica. If Alonso stays Webber will be his team mate

Maybe we need to move along.

DC has announced his retirement.

Webber has re-signed for Red Bull.

There is actually a race on this weekend.

Oh and ALL grandprix drivers (All top line sports people for that matter) are arrogant & have a limitless belief in their own ability to win. They can't not. It is just how it works.

Webber to Mclaren after Kovi gets binned for being rubbish?

Or, better yet, Webber to BMW after Heidfeld gets dumped.

Webber to Renault to punch on with Alonso?

Any odds on a good race this weekend from Pomgolia?

Webber to ferrari - not a snowballs chance in hell. Remember hes still got Briatore as his manager and Renault is still a viable option - Mark should have been there when they were winning. But no, they had to hire the underwhelming whipping boy Fisichella.

Whichever way it goes, Mark is in the market with the top teams now and thats a just reward.

Ofcourse Silverstone will be a cracker. It always is. Especially when there are crazy dudes with doomsday signs running around on the track, lol. :P

Although Briatore is his man, Webber won't go to Renault. They're not going to repeat the success they have a couple of years ago (with the mass damper among other things), and recent reports from Renault indicate a withdrawal from F1, and a return to World Rally unless F1 gets a whole lot cheaper a whole lot quicker. Renault are ideally placed to follow in Suzuki's foot steps by stepping up from the Junior Category to the real thing. And with the WRC going to a S2000 type car in the next couple of years, the money required will be substantially less than what it is with the current WRCar regulations, and closer ties in to Renault marketing from an automotive perspective.

Renault would probably however stay on as an engine manufacturer, and I think RBR has a good technical team behind them, and without the hassle of having to worry about developing engines are well placed to continue their good form. Also, if Renault F1 were to fold, a fair chunk of their talent would have to go somewhere, and again RBR would have the relationship already and dollars to support taking who they wanted.

I wasn't a fan of Webber to RBR a while ago, but I think they're going to really start to surprise some people provided they've got their head around the '09 regulations.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
