Why Do Some Cops Have Attitude Problems

hahah thats because when you get out of the car, they didn't tell you to, which means they were not in control, which is probably why they went ballistic.

cops are just wankers, simple

i've never had a positive expereience with a cop, whether it be when i was in the right or wrong. i'm always polite and curteous to them but it doesn't seem to make any difference

when i'm in the wrong they're always rude and demeaning

when i'm in the right they're lazy and incompetant

Well most people would no I dress like a raving homo and cops always seem to not even bother when they see who is driving the car, dont know if its my race or just the way I dress and they are homophobic?!

Go figure but not like ive got anything to hide, anyways I always tend to find the blokes and women I talk to on the police force are quite nice. just depends on if you catch a short one I guess.

they do the whole 'MATE, get back into your car!' thing, but i tell them that i dont like people talking down at me and they get over it. they cant MAKE you stay in your car, they just like you to think they can.

since when? afaik, you are supposed to follow any 'reasonable directions' issued by police- unless you could prove staying in your car wasn't reasonable

Most of the time they want to to stay in the car because it is the safest place for you and them.

Put yourself in their shoes.

You get out of the car and get struck by another vehicle and they are then to blame for allowing you to get into harms way.

Consider that they do not know you from a bar of soap and all things considered you could be the nicest person in the owrld or an axe murderer. They have to also weigh up the options for their safety. It is nothing to do with them feeling like they have the power. They have reasons for doing the things they do. They would rather be in a position that benefits them if things go belly up and you pull a knife or a gun on them or try to run.

Going back 10 (no make that 11 ) years when I was still a teenager a bloke in his thirty's reconed he used to have success by jumping out of his car fast enough to reach the cops window before they had a chance to move and ask how he could help.

Not being one to pass up a challenge I found with a little practice (dont get me started on all that practice... cops...) that I could pull my car into a parking space, on handbrake, off key, ditch seatbelt and launch out of my car arriving at the cops window just as they were finishing their own parking manouver! Now 9 times out of 10 when I looked down into that window and asked how I could help that there copper stuttered and stammered something bout a random breath test and got on his way as soon as possible

I havnt tried it in years cos last time I was smart to a cop he pulled his gun on me and I didnt get out of the cop station for several hours

Yes, lately out of the box they're fed a lot of angry pills or something before each shift to build up their confidence. After the first serious arse kicking on the job, most of them find out they're not bullet/fist proof and settle down.

I was speaking to my cop friend recently about this (he was explain a whole bunch of stuff at the time). He basically said that you'd be suprised how often people who have something to hide break down and admit things when they're asked questions like these. It's pretty standard for them to do, just looking for a reaction that says that you might not be the person you say you are. I'm guessing though that he could have done it with a bit more tact.

This includes seeing how self disciplined you are in holding yourself back from irritation. No need to get all emo about it. HTFU. Play the game - once you get good at it you'll be able to manipulate and control the situation. Of course its much easier to do at 35 than it is at 20.

Also IMNSHO the reason cops are often kents is that 99% of the people they deal with are dickwads, so they treat all ppl like they're dickwads. Like doctors think everyone is sick.

LAST TIME I GOT HASTLED BY COPS, WAS ON MY CYCLE GOING TO WORK...I RUN A RED LIGHT,AND THEY WERE PISSSSS.EDD.

i work with cops daily and to put it simple some cops are great friendly and normal and lots are dickheads with inferior problems,that includes men and women,i have sat down and spoke about it with work mates some say it has something to do with the way they were brought up ,some say its to do with when they were a school and people never spoke much to them,or just that the role is to much for them and they don't understand the role.i can say that i meet 3-5 a day 4 days a week and i can tell you that most are scared and think that being a nob keeps them in control of the situation.i have had 2 cop suspended for cruelty to people with mental illness. so my 2 cent advice is your approach is everything so think be for you speak don't talk shit. eg i flew past some cops and i did not see them and to top it of i broke traction in second nicely they found me at a mates place a few minutes later and lost the plot at me the hole time i answered everything straight told them what they wonted to here and they drove off and i got nothing but a grilling. they should of defected me for everthing,fined me for braking traction and thrown in speeding for kicks .so your approach is everything.

I always get outa the car too... they take too long, i've got better things to do than sit there twiddling my thumbs waiting for them...

Then they get all agro and tell me to get in the car...

Normal cops; never had a problem with, they check licence, do breathe test, reasonable people so far...

Highway patrol... follow me home from work, and are typically pricks...

My cousin's a cop... reckons highway patrol reckon they're a law onto themselves... agree with him so far...

got RBT'd yesterday got the grilling, asked why I had not been drinking today as it was a saturday?! with a confused face I replied, I work every saturday this is my first one off in about 3 months you think ill waste it getting smashed when I drive a car like this?

He laughed and then grilled me with more, this your car in a stern voice.

YEAP! I replied, Nice he said.. have a good one mate, and you too buddy.

Obviously 0-Bac made the transition go smoother..

See some blokes are nice.. just gotta catch them on a good day.

got pulled over again the night after that, rbt, licence, asian cop was nice even said "hey man how u doin" smooth as off i go, but i just hate dicks, next time note their officer number down (or something and make a complaint )

I had a good experience With Cops , Was at Bondi Yesterday Got pulled Over By High Way Patrol , He Told Me He Going to do Random Breath Test And Check Over the Car Opened Up the Bonnet He Was like Woow He knew A bit about skylines Amazingly , I Had all my Engineers And RTA Papers So he had a look at them And it was all Good, Had a bit of a chat with Him I even asked him if he wanted to Race a Joke And he Said Yes but He wanted to Swap Cars ,

So really There is good cops out there too ...
