the possible Issue with mixed grip (rare) is a torn bicep.

Having that hand turned out puts the bicep in a kind of flexed position.

Gotta be careful not to bend the arms when doing deads (some people have a habbit close to lockout on really heavy weights to flex that arm a little)

It's a common injury in Strongman comps during the tyre flip events.

as you grab the tyre with both hands, palms up and lift to get it off the ground.

mixed grip has nothing to do with shoulders.

Using straps will probably help you lift more weight, but it just masks a weakness.

masking a weakness leads to injury

It's not that I have trouble with grip it's more the fact I have no powder and there is none at gym and over 100kg hurts the callus on the hands.

who uses powder? :/

your deadlift is improving Troy :D

haha, I should add I haven't managed to lift 170kg by the way!! Most I've locked out is 165kg. Have recently reset weight and doing 4 sets of 5 reps. Currently on 135kg, stepping up 2.5kg each session.

lol riiiiiggghhhhttttt... a freind gave me a big bag of chalk once... never used it

He means Chalk.

and all the cool people use chalk.

Yup and thanks, the voice of reason.

This is true lol.

Gonna go back to a simplified routine as well for a little while, just don't have patience to deal with 5 different exercises per session now that the gym is full of new-year resolution clowns.

Squats, deadlifts, bench press, OHP, pull ups.

Shoulder injury currently.

When I'm fine I'd do 3 sets on wednesday

so it would go

Bench, Rows, OHP, chins

My shoulder injury is due to a lot of things, but a major one is more pressing then pulling.

so now on the mend, I just do bench, then lots of pulling..

I'll add them back in later.

    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
