Hi guys,

New to the site and stageas too, firstly - fantastic wealth of information you all have collated here - its a credit to you.

Secondly, despite searching I cant find ANYWHERE that supplies different front grilles for the series 1 RS4. I am due to get a stagea soon and I just really dont like the front grille.

Can anyone show me websites or more importantly direct me to a contact that has aftermarket grilles?

Im in the UK if that makes a difference and would love to see some pics!

Thanks all!

check out takeros(.co.jp I think - try a google search) and Masa motorsports (once again not sure of the exact site name). There will be others - just make sure when you search, you use WGNC34 and "body kit' or 'front grille' or 'face' etc when you search.

Give it a few hours, and the guys on here will have a heap of replies with more detailed info than I can provide!

Fantastic - I just think the new grille will massively improve the look of the car.

I also want some clear repeaters for the front and side - can anyone help with that?

Thanks again!

yeah - what sort of grill do you want exactly? Do a search on yahoo japan and have a look to get some ideas about what is out there. As for the indicators, the front ones are exactly the same as the nissan maxima (use the search function for "clear indicators" ) and the side repeaters are the same as a LOT of different vehicles. I have seen everything from Pulsars to commodores (4 door vauxall monaro to you lads in Pomgolia) you are pretty much only limited to what you can wire in and what will fit in the hole, but there isn't a lot of difference between cars. My choice is the N16 pulsar ones tho.

well, mine had a turbo grill with an NA motor (originally) :P

Its just one of those personal taste things I suppose. There are a few RS Four owners here in Aus that want to put NA grills on.......

If you weren't on the other side of the world l'd def be interested in swapping grills!!

Hey fuzzy, you should consider it, the postage isn't that bad.... might be way cheaper than trying to find one here or in Japan. Especially if you two swap!

PS I like the NA grill too...I have the Dolphin..... it is one BIG hole..... and no badge fits!!

ARGGHHH ... thats what l want!!! I prefer the n/a grill to the turbo one.

+1

I have the turbo grille

the NA grill looks best

Dolphin grille sucks arse IMHO (looks de-ghey with all the bits showing, such as radiator, auto oil cooler (aftermarket), horn(s), radiator air guide (aftermarket))

Id rather NOT see all those bits from the front with the Dolphin grille

lol

:)

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
