I will neityher confirm or deny that a certain red R32 was doing 1:19.8 in the second session.

Now why doesn't that sound convincing???

Still, a 1:22 is a very good result..

How close is that to your time Roy??

LOL, thats the problem with mobile phones...the truth is only ever a phone call away :)

Its quicker then me, better looking then me, sounds better then me...i suck :D

Errrr, are you sure??

I believe Ivan's GTR would be doing that time, you may have mixed them up???

If not, FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK ME!!!

Yeah was a little increased for Scotsman's benefit more than anything. We thought Bris should send him a message as he was the most credible for relaying results! :laughing-smiley-014:

Some tuff tuffff cars out there. I loved the Jack Daniels ex-v8 supercar... soo quick. The day ran smoothly, it was so well organised!

A few incidents on the track today.. seemed like there was a car off in every session. Early in the day a quick black Porsche 996 lost the rear coming on to the straight and hit the tires.

Ivan's GTR had a fire in the engine bay up the back straight.. pulled over, use the fire extinguisher, then towed back to car park. Looked like it was dropping oil in the car park, maybe an oil leak caused the fire?

Anyway. I had fun out there :thanks: was good to get back on the track after a few months and give the car's new setup a shakedown.. still some tweaking to do but overall the car feels good.

The RE Customs R34 didnt do the endurance race at the end!! did a lap and went off! lol i was exicted when i saw it go on =(

Had a slight boost issue so pulled off on the lineup lap and packed up.

lol :( I wasn't going all that quick.. I didn't even beat my PB. Think I'll upsize the turbo exhaust housing and find some bigger kahuna's up the back straight :teehee:

Adam's widebody R32 was the fastest on the day, 320rwkw is nice!

LOL, 320kws would be dangerous in my hands. You guys with the 25s do a good job of keeping the cars on the black stuff with the power you are running. Looking at how you guys are going with more power, i think i will gladly stick with the 20 a little longer as it is an easy car to drive with the power it has

Chris needs a punch in the cock.

But anyways - I must say after having a chat to Kurt Styles on the weekend I've got the urge to get into the big HP RWD fun. I think Paris and I might look at getting something for 2009 - we just have to decide on what.

Yeah you guys got me.

I actually believed he had done the 1.19 when I got the SMS from Bris, because I know Newton is a crazy man.

But I should have known that GTST's aren't capable of sub 1m20's

Oh - and having been down on Sat and watching a few laps of Adams I think there is a bit if he gets those shocks fixed. Infact Bris give him yours and I reckon there's 2s in there alone. You could hear his car skipping into turn 1 badly (when he had the track to himself)

2 seconds from shocks and a wheel alignment? I hope so but is his current stuff that bad? 2 seconds when you are already doing 1:22s is a huge difference. B ut i hope you are right as i always had it in the back of my head that Ol Silver could do a high 1:21 if i could just get a day without niggling problems from the 15 year old tractor

If he wants a set of the RAs he can almost tyake mine, i wont be driving the old girl for a while and be good to see another car getting use from them....and i know where i can get another new set anyway :(

Big Red = Scary. I went in the passenger lap and it was a handful to say the least, I do not know how he manages to keep that thing straight enough to get decent times.

Newton is currently on a flight to QLD, but thinks there is a second in set up and also a second in brakes. So thats two seconds which should get him to 120's maybe, on a good day, if fences don't jump out at him! Also that's a big maybe until more testing is done. There were a couple of teething issues but certainly nothing major which is good.

He has some incar footage which is pretty cool, it reminds me of the incar footage of a very well known Silver R32 GTS T, and looks like a handful at times.

And as for the jokes of Big Red doing a 119.7, first Brisby sent the message to Scotsman saying "Newton just did a 119.7", Scotsman arrived at the track and believed the message and congratulated Adam, but he had a very sad look on his face so I told him we were joking. Secondly, Scotsman sent snowy the same message, jokes all round.

I still think Big Red needs some air horns the same as the Dukes Of Hazzard 'General Lee' and they should be tooted whenever he passes a GTR!! hehe

All in all a good day! :(

He's running drift spec Tein HE's and you could really hear how much trouble he had keeping contact with the ground at times.

Given that car is all plastic and running stupid fat tyres PLUS the guy can steer a bit I think if he could gain the confidence in its handling he could come close. But I really think he'll struggle on those HE's at everywhere but PI. As I said to him on Sat I reckon he could pull some great times at the Island in that car as is but was going to struggle a bit at Sandown.

Something like this looks good :(

Actually its a real shame Nige pulled the Supra apart - that could have been a whole lot of fun.

I thought you said big hp ? :teehee:

Yeh Nige's car was a bit of a benchmark, i think he only even got into the 1:22s, shame we never got to see it at Phillip Island or Winton. At the moment seems Lee Wilson is the pace setter for us RWD boys

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
