One very important thing has come up from this thread and it's the fact that GTR Geoff is a bounty hunter.

I want stories. :)

couple of other less important points.

foamer - I admire your dedication to do the work you do.

I don't like that you have excuses for the people you work with.

and don't say you make excuses because you did in the example of the 14 year old thief who's father gave it to him when he was younger.

1 + 1 does not equal 11

he is 14, robbed a place.

cautioned and counciled by you for the better.

Let's hope he changes for the better.

I had a dream.. that all men are created equal....

not really...

some are born in to rich families some to poor etc.

The story on one of these kids are that he was a good boy.

did well in school.

did some drugs at schoolies.

got addicted.

went to "COUNCILING/REHAB" about it (funded by us DICKHEADS mind you)

then was ok for a while.

then went BACK to rehab funded by us again. our funding, that pays YOU and others in your and similar fields to help them, then checked himself out, and HOURS later needed a drug hit, so robbed someone etc etc.

How can you expect people to be forgiving?

The kid had no brain disability.

he made the choices to start drugs... he could have spent that money to buy suppliments and do training to better himself.

he made the choice to be a DRUGf**kED moron.

then the guy he stole the car off paid to help him stop being a junkie.

then he paid to help him again after he failed the first time.

then he got out for the second time and came straight for the guy that had been helping him the whole time with his hard earned tax money, to take what was left in his wallet and the car he owned with the money that was left over after paying for his rehab.

You don't have a leg to stand on mate.

these 2 paid the price for what they did.

death was the price and they deserved it.

May the XR6 rest in peace.

May the 2 f**kers rott in hell

sure is a lot of hate out there.

its a shame that this could have been an educated debate but it turned into high horse character assassination.

+1 for GTST for pointing out that Geoff was in star wars haha j/k mate :P

I was going to say something rash. A member of my family has had been assaulted and her car vandalised by an ex-con who was locked up for stealing cars. I just wanted foamers spin on this, wanted him to justify why this guy was such an angle, but I realised I was taking my anger out on the wrong person.

Pffft. Drafters?? ;)

I was in a specialist trade that has a rep for such hard drinking that no-one blinked when we had a 3 day bender. I had a total of 6 hours without consuming alcohol, only because I needed a couple of naps :D

Bring em on Noel.

They steal some poor guys car and wallet at knife point, then blast up the motorway at speed only to become yet another statistic for Today Tonight and other media to use against gen y's.

f**k they got what they deserved I say.

seems like there is a lot of dickheads around.

unfortunately they all seem to be on this forum.

no point arguing this in much detail, as if you believe somebody deserves to die because they carjacked somebody at knife point, you are a dickhead. plain and simple. i am a social worker who works with teenagers and young adults (ages 12-24) currently in our criminal justice system on a daily basis, so have a fair idea of the backgrounds of some of these offenders, but reading the above statements, arguing on their behalf any further would be a waste of my and your time. this isn't a bleeding heart statement, where i believe all these people just need hugs and kisses to get over their problems and maybe a slap on the wrist. i personally think rapists, and child abusers should be hung with barb wire, by their genitals, but that's a whole different matter.

those two clowns made a mistake, but they sure as hell did not deserve to die for that mistake. i am sure that some of you will try to argue this, but in advance to these arguments here is my pre prepared counter argument: go fark yourself :ninja:

Just because we have a different opinion does not class us as dickheads and for you to tell us to go f**k ourselves you really should try and choose better words next time.

SO GO f**k YOURSELF.

Thanks mods if you want to erase it go ahead, but i think you should erase the above post as well as it is personally directed at most of us.

    • Yeah and hence my ghetto way of slamming the brakes, get the ABS to cycle, rebleed seems to be a sensible workaround.
    • Hey! Happy to help. Nothing inherently wrong with the adapter, it's more so with Brett Collins himself. He gave me a lot of incorrect information when I was in contact with him and was extremely rude when I challenged him. He stated I could not use any aftermarket twin plate clutches except for his own, not to use the dush shield, bla bla bla and it was all BS.  Collins stated to cut roughly 14mm's off the housing, I took off 15mm to make room for the dust shield. I would confirm with whatever adapter manufacturer you're using.
    • There's plenty of OEM steering arms that are bolted on. Not in the same fashion/orientation as that one, to be sure, but still. Examples of what I'm thinking of would use holes like the ones that have the downward facing studs on the GTR uprights (down the bottom end, under the driveshaft opening, near the lower balljoint) and bolt a steering arm on using only 2 bolts that would be somewhat similarly in shear as these you're complainig about. I reckon old Holdens did that, and I've never seen a broken one of those.
    • Let's be honest, most of the people designing parts like the above, aren't engineers. Sometimes they come from disciplines that gives them more qualitative feel for design than quantitive, however, plenty of them have just picked up a license to Fusion and started making things. And that's the honest part about the majority of these guys making parts like that, they don't have huge R&D teams and heaps of time or experience working out the numbers on it. Shit, most smaller teams that do have real engineers still roll with "yeah, it should be okay, and does the job, let's make them and just see"...   The smaller guys like KiwiCNC, aren't the likes of Bosch etc with proper engineering procedures, and oversights, and sign off. As such, it's why they can produce a product to market a lot quicker, but it always comes back to, question it all.   I'm still not a fan of that bolt on piece. Why not just machine it all in one go? With the right design it's possible. The only reason I can see is if they want different heights/length for the tie rod to bolt to. And if they have the cncs themselves, they can easily offer that exact feature, and just machine it all in one go.
