Does the corolla happen to b made in or around 1986, and have a 1GGZE in it or something?

A mate of mine has a supercharged AE86... I don't even know what a starlet has in the engine bay... I thought it was like a second boot...

my friend has a corolla thats supercharged! just wondering if anyone heard of or have a supercharged starlet?

4E-FTE is the jap spec turbo starlet engine. Mate did the conversion to a local model starlet a few years ago, it had guts.

the corrolla would have a 4AGZE from the mr2, zippy little motor.

As for the starlet as mentioned it has the 4E series motor, being such a light car i would expect it to hall some ass

there is no "factory" supercharged/turbo starlets.

I'm sure it's doable, but would be a lot of money for nothing.

I'm assuming you have the aus delivered shopping trolley version.

you can turbo charge that..

or engine conversion from the jap spaec EP82 starlet which has the 4e-fte turbo 100kw engine.

Sydneykid had once mentioned that he knew of someone who had shoehorned a sivler top 20 valve 4age in to one.

those motors are 118kw I think..

was apparently a bit of fun to throw around.

I read about a 20 valve starlet years ago, it was built for circuit racing, power to weight was very good - what it lacked on long straights it made up for it in spades around the corners. From what I remember, the biggest hassle was making an exhaust manifold to fit

Wasnt there an overseas model starlet with turbo from factory?

surely?

I remember seeing a few in Malta few years ago (yep, malta! lol same sorta shape as our late model ones, just different headlights and such)

And then theres the Jap ones from the late 80's

Yep, in Japan there was the Starlet GT, and the newer Starlet Glanza, both ran 4E-FTE engines.

what's wrong with knowing about cars other than nissans?

take your blinkers off and look around the rest of the stable and see how many cars are around that will hand you your arse.

People of the 90's will know how much fun Switft GTi's were to drive... this is before the import days so some of you can go back to sleep...

the EP82 Starlet GT was about the same weight but had about 10 kw more than the swift.

and more torque due to turbo.

they are light, fun cars to drive.

no dori dori so that rules out some more of you.

a stiff rear anti-sway bar makes a world of difference to the handling.

it is not uncommon to see these cars lift their opposite rear wheel when cornering hard.

small article from back in 1999 in hot 4's when whiteline did a kit for them

http://whiteline.com.au/articles/RH45_star_a.htm

and ofcourse, just like SAU is to skylines..

http://www.austarletclub.com/ is to starlets.

do a little digging. expand your minds.

    • Perfect, I'll get to it this winter then at the same time as I weld on my anti squat kit.
    • Alright so my 32 only has one temperature no matter what degree you set it to. I’ve tried disconnecting the servo motor arm and moving it either direction and got no change. I’ve fixed the leak in my AC and re charged it and with it on and clutch engaged it still blows hot even though the low pressure pipe going to the firewall is ice cold. Both heater core hoses are hot while running as well. Diagnostic code showed 24 for intake air temperature sensor. Anybody got any ideas?
    • I said Garrett style. Not Garrett genuine. And something in the G30 550 range is what you want. Not those pokey little old fashioned T28 sized things. The intake ports in the head are small. There is little benefit in fattening up the runners and leaving ths actual ports small. Just run what you've got. And on the subject of Nistune vs Haltech etc..... You know you can control the transmission with decent standalone ECUs these days, right? No need to keep any of that old Nissan bullshit. Don't get me wrong - I use Nistune on my Neo. But it is a DET, so the number of bodges and workarounds I had to do to make it work in a chassis without ABS, TCS, etc, is quite small compared to the herniated arsehole you will have trying to make it work on a motor that doesn't have some of the things that the turbo ECU wants to see. Just easier to bite the bullet and go aftermarket outright.
    • Hmm. Only when the f**king thing is actually working. Still can't find the leak. And that's with dye being put in the last 3 times!
