If you do a search around the forums you will get some feedback but you won't find anything negative as those type of posts are not tolerated and don't stick around long. Have a look around for the dealer/workshop with the most positive feedback and base it on that. Some people may choose to PM you if they have any info.

i got my GTR from Shayne at Power Rd. he never pushed me into buying it or any of the other cars he had. On saying that, i believe you could get better quality cars from other places. or maybe buy 1 privately from someone off this forum. that way you can get a car thats been in aust for a while and has a service history from here. you will be able to pick up a good clean car thats had all the crap done. ie: 100,000km service, water oil pump, rubber hoses etc etc.

The problem with some dealers and i experienced with power rd a couple of years back was that half the time they have no bloody idea if your serious or not, I enquired about a car, got no service - guy obvisoulsy thought i just wanted to 'joy ride' so i took my 20k else where and went to a different dealer, who had me test driving that day, and what do you know i bought the car. The sort of people that are going to come into an import yeard looking at skylines and generally not going to be mid thirties in a gucci suit so if they wanna sell some cars they should respect more of the customers. same goes for workshops with me, good customer service goes a long way, and i have been to many different workshops around Melbourne and the ones that i decided not to return to are no longer - so i obviously wasn't the only one who thought this way.

My car came from Power Road and Shane was fine to deal with. The screen prices are only a starting point for the game so don't be scared to offer what you think that the car is worth, but again, no need to be offensive when you make an offer.....

With me being an old git, he was very patient, and was more than happy to let me drive a few cars. Even let me have a poke around the back at the cars that hadn't been complianced....

They also fixed a couple of minor issues under the 3 month statutory warranty, without any arguments.

  • 2 weeks later...

Power Road Car Sales are top guys, shane is a no bullshit guy & mick in the workshop knows his stuff. If you let him know that you are serious about buying a car he will sell you the car you want. Not push you into something that they want to off-load. because thats not how they work. The last time i was there, he had sold a 2001 S2 R34 Gt sedan for $13990 & another one 99 mdl, for $11,000 which i thought was dirt cheap. (As i am now in the market to buy a family car) only have 4 damn GTS-T coupes to get rid of first.. lol..

I would not hesitate to drive down the couple of hours(that it takes me), to deal with them. Don't be thrown off by his phone manner, (shane used to be a truckie) and he is old-school. Either you want it or you don't; i won't push you into it, come back with the money if you want to pick it up...

Good aussie, no bullshit salesman. As eveyone says, cash talks, negotiate...

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
