Besides the pro-forma invoice, take a look at your shipping list, there should be a serial number there in the 'part description details' section. See if that matches what you got on that shaft.

So to everyone , please go ahead and check your paperwork and the serial number on the shaft itself, post these numbers here, even get some measurements of the shaft itself, I am about to go and start measuring now.

:P

:(

OK... I'll go and measure the shaft now...

OH WAIT.......... I CAN'T, BECAUSE IT HASN'T ARRIVED YET :):P:(:) :)

That MW 35AW 35 41.69 is the part number on the shipping list l

length is 765mm this is the carbon shaft section only

and 1050mm is the entire length

arn't about 90% of the 2000ft/lbs shafts for R32 GTR's ?

Shaft lenght flage to flange 1020mm

Carbon section length 735mm

also the other number MW 35AW 35 40.71

That 40.71 might be the lenght in inches?

gtr13 look for the cutomer copy (bottom left of page)it should have the Serial number printed on this page.

Mine are one number off. 0708042 on the shaft and 043 on the invoice. it is however the correct shaft as the length is ok. but i can see a problem arising with this

Can everyone who has not got their shaft send me a Pm with your address in it so i can create a list and send it off?

Thanks guys i really would like to get this cleared up asap!!

Wow, thanks... i've got emails back from Paul with what hes sent to James.. but he's still without reply. and just told him even more of the news of whats going on..

I'll pm everyone now with what i need to know just incase some are not looking in here..

Who is the person with 2 shafts?

Seeing as the majority of shafts were R32 GTR shafts it is easy to see that only a few people will be worried. Meaning I. Could everyone please measure their shafts, if the measurement comes out to 1095mm please pm me as our customer is threatening to go to consumer affairs now over this... 4 months wait when his car has been on a hoist finished waiting for a bloody tail shaft.

Point him to this thread (I assume you were clean with the customer on how you were procuring his carbon shaft, and the purchase price) and I'm sure he'll understand........... somewhat.

Everyone else, let Andrew sort this out. Just PM him the details of your package and he'll collate everything in due course. No need to get antsy after this long. Another week or so won't hurt.

Just count yourselves lucky that you received a shaft, when some of us didn't even get that :D

he knows of the situation and views the thread quite often, therefor seeing all this crap has made him give up. He is sending the standard shaft off today to get cut for more money again and thus told me to go shove the shaft and reimburse.

the only other number on the customer copy is ACPT REF#DS-2304 i have no numbers on any of my paperwork that match the 0508051-1 number on the shaft

their were only 2x 1000ft/lbs shafts made mine and piggaz shaft for a R33 GTR (i think) and mine for a R34 GTR the number for the 1000ft/lbs shaft might be different to the rest of the lads iam pretty sure i have the right shaft as it wieghts only 7.88kg whereas the 2000ft/lbs shafts weight around the 9.5kg mark i really need to compare mine to piggaz shaft and see if he has a similar serial number to me

Hey

have you got three pieces of paper?? two will be proforma invoice and the other is a shipping list

two should be to Street to strip and the other to yourself (which has no prices on it)

it should say serial number(s) ******** qty 1

any news on the rest of the shafts received? Who has what, or the person who received 2 shafts?

Hey i am led to beleive they are both r32 2000hp shafts. i will pick them up today and work it out.

as for matching serial numbers i am trying to get a list of what shaft is what, obviously we're not going to worry about all the 32 shafts and their matching numbers, (i figure this is the main mixup and isnt really much of a problem)

i really want to find out where the hell yours has got to. hopefully i will hear something soon. Monday in America now so with a bit of luck we have herd back from them..

i will let you all know whats going on,

(And will call you right away when i know)

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
