yes, of course it can. it's just a lightly modified RB26. you would need a blue slip for the engine number change but that's it (in NSW at least). whether or not you could pass an emissions test with the cames it has is another story. I don't know if it could or couldn't

you don't need to do an emissions test for rego.

if you have your car, and it's registered now. and you buy that engine. get it fitted, get a blue slip noting the change of engine number. bob's your uncle. done.

My mate is bringing one in for a customer for 16k..

Is it possible to get me one too? PM details if you can.

I wonder how much power at the wheels once it's retuned on Aus fuel

Do you think aus fuel is inferior or superior?

From what ive seen, the mines R34 has massive torque and pulls hard all the way upto redline which is the exact reason i want that engine. My car is going to be used for circuit so HP isnt my main concern.

yeah......I guess its good if you live near the petrol station that sells 100RON fuel but other wise, the 580ps figure will reduce once you have it retuned in australia.

The shell round the corner from my house sells that optimax extreme (100ron, 5%ethanol) does this stuff compare to the jap fuels?

i think fuel rating is the same, i think (but don't quote me) japanese have 100 and upward....i think they might even have 106 or something or other. Our best fuel is 100Ron here. But if you are ever getting that engine, best to retune it just to be on the safe side.

Yeah i will retune it to be safe, ill save a copy of mines original tune to my laptop incase i use 100 octane at the track.

How much power loss would you estimate between 98 and 100 octane? Im going for the entire mines catalog so hopefully it wont be too far away from the 580HP figure.

LOL. all you get is a bare engine mate. there is no mines tune to save. you still need all the ancillaries, turbos, ECU, tuning etc to go with it. it's a $30K proposition to have one running nicely in the car. at least.

as for fuel difference, it is negligible difference. fuel in japan is not some magic super liquid everyone seems to think it is. the hi-oku good stuff at japanese servos is about 100-102ron as best I can find out. most premium fuels would be fairly similar to out 98ron or 100ron fuels.

Ofcourse i know its a bare engine, thats why i said im getting the entire mines catalog, so i meant i would save the tuning from their ECU, the VX-ROM. I know the costs involved :) and from what ive seen its worth every cent.
