With petrol being around 3 bucks a litre within th e next 5-10 years, Ill be driving a nice Corolla and probably be too busy paying off my first property as well as hopefully investing in the second investment property... once that is going well, I wouldn't mind driving an R35 GTR on weekends, that is only if I can pay cash for it though.

I had my last car (VL Commodore) for 11 years and I hope to have my R33 for a long time. What will your ride be in 5 - 10 years time ? Will it be your current Skyline with heavy mods and running 11s or will you upgrade to a R34 GTR (if you dont already have one) or will it be something completely different ?

R34 GT-T Turbo Manual.

5-10 years down the track:

- Bayside Blue..

- 6 speed 350Z box conversion with 3.5/3.6 final drive for my highway driving.

-GTR front end conversion with TS style GTR front bar, GTR mid mounted rear spoiler.

- Rear diffuser, pumped/flared/rolled rear guards to fit fatter rubber.

- Fully rebuilt and strengthened RB25 with forged components and equipped with a crack and pressure tested 2.8/3.0 ltr bottom end with full head work , ported and polished, acid dipped, the works.

- Twin turbo kit, intercooler, oil cooler, fuel cooler, radiator, electronic water pump, N1/AM oil pump, Tomei oil flow restrictor, dry sump, 750cc injectors, fuel rail, twin fuel pumps, front facing plenum, fuel rail, pon cams (retained VCT), Haltech e11v2 and a full Kakimoto 3.5 inch cat back exhaust with HKS dump/fronts (for HKS turbos).

- Kitted interior, BNR34 GTR MFD, NISMO 320kph speedo & tacho, Nismo racing wheel, Nismo carpets & bride racing/ergo seats with harnesses and door trim.

- Tein Superstreet coilovers, upper & lower control arms, camber/castor kits, traction rods, front/rear anti-roll bars and sway bars.

320 rwkw 4 door fury!!!

I've already got coilpacks and Apexi PFC... IT HAS STARTED...

I'll just swap for a Haltech down the track... :)

In 10 years time 80% of all SAU will be driving Echos, Corollas and Prius'... the rest will have enough money to afford petrol to drive their R35 GTR.

Wake up people, the age of car is finished. Petrol will be around 2 bucks at the start of next year. Vpower and BP Ultimate is around $1.70 already.

Its only the matter of time before the government will start charging extra for those driving turbo and v8 cars and 4 wheel drives.

In UK they already pay three times more to keep fuel guzzling cars.

newer open wheeler + bigger house + billions of dollars due to my success @ selling my website to google / microsoft / any big $$$ conglomerate who want to purchase my idea and driving / jet setting / doing what ever the f... Ah well, let the everyone dream :) Its a sad reality when you put it like that. I want my big block V8, but to be able to afford to do one properly it would be a good 5-10 years down the track based on the way the world is now, nevermind when petrol's $3/litre and you have to spend god knows how much just for your first house!

Lets pray they find a stash somewhere :D

Speaking of a stash..

Spoke to a mates dad who works in the offshore oil industry..

Apparently a conglomerate of firms will be drilling into an oil reserve near the Falkland Islands, cautious estimates are around 60 billion barrels of oil... Nice change to the deserts of Saudi, Iraq and Iran, or even Venezuela for that matter... He also reckons that oil could be back to 90 odd dollars a barrel if the Falklands supply starts hitting refineries by Jan 09....

It won't change a thing... sadly... but with all the pollution from our cars, I am glad that very soon all petrol cars will be history... bring on the electrics.

    • I know it's an entirely different engine, but I noticed practically 0 difference removing or adding 2x 3in (5inch body) 400cell cats (one in each bank) with regards to sound. So changing the cat to change drone I suspect will have very very, very, very, very, very very minimal impact.
    • 200 cell cat will probably help. Do you have room to tee off a Helmholtz resonator anywhere along the exhaust? These can do wonders for drones, with a little experimentation with regards to length.
    • The car revs up through the gears much better/faster now, and fuel consumption doesn't really seem to have be affected either on a Hwy cruise, which wasn't expected  The FAB9 intake manifold has been problematic sourcing though, I've contacted Plasmaman to ask about their intake, which you can get different runner lengths spec'd, and, their different options for throttle bodies  The only real physical drawback with the Plasmaman intake is how to connect it to my current OEM style airbox, as FAB9 make a OEM style back half of the airbox to suit the larger diameter throttle body, and all that is required is a 30°bend silicone pipe to mate the throttle body to the airbox Car also goes in for some exhaust work in a week or so to fit the biggest resonator they can fit clearance wise in the front pipe to help remove some of the drone, there isn't alot of realestate under there, a rough guesstimation is it will only be about 3-400mm long and maybe 90-100mm diameter, and with a 60mm exhaust that doesn't leave alot of space for the internal volume of the resonator to do its thing I'm thinking I may need to bin the "high flow" 100 cell cat for something a bit more substantial, yeah, and restrictive, like a 200-400 cell, to help, but, I have ample room for a really large bodied cat to replace the current one which has around a 4" diameter body I may look around in the recycling bins and see if I can find a massive newish cat that was "replaced" with some new full exhaust system that the local exhaust shop in Western Sydney is doing
    • Hahah look at that smile 😂 Just like those ones on IG where they compare the husband in family photos vs husband going fishing lol. I don't think I'll participate this time, clutch isn't in and also the last time I went there were too many numpties on the cruise sessions. Nearly caused a few accidents holding up people and a few guys initiating massive kerb to kerb drifts with heaps of cars right behind them. Not to mention, there were guys on the track session using it as a power cruise session.
