I'm a little devistated; I did all my sums on the weekend and came to the conclusion that I dont have the budget to do this. Not this time any way. Looking forward to the next time its on. Untill then I'll just do some more Lakeside days, that should help put a smile back where it should be.

well i picked up fastfours today and gt2 and the benz were in it and they were bloody filthy from rain and road, also had a corner by corner detail comparo in your words around the track,

hehe! was a good read. looked like you guys had a ball!!

HEHE yes it was great fun. Nothing like putting $730k worth of cars on a dirt road :D

I am just wondering how fast fours got it, as I thought the story was for MOTOR only.

Boost button is the go, although I might raise the low boost a bit and see how goes for traction and drivability.

DiRTgarage are you going it for sure or just beer talkin? You will have some stiff experienced well set up cars to compete with, but at least getting out there. As giant will know and might explain there is heaps of time to be gained in years of experience with testing and set up and what parts work and what doesn't etc. How much faster have you gone Russ compared to were you were at 2 years ago??? HEEEEAPS. Two ways to accelerate this advantage is lots of testing, hook up with a workshop with track experience that supply parts, use other people experience with the score on the board and get advice, and use motorsports engineers, and money helps. Lots more to it than going in a straight line.

Yep Sydney kid is helping me with suspension set up and rear sway bar now etc, and some fine tuning, so I can at least get closer to giant and lofty and maybe others.

With out my front diff this is a good guess but wrong. Not quite that light yet. Did someone mention something about being secrets. I will say it is getting lighter every day.

Hey Chris and Anderew. Glad you boys can make it to the day.

Chris, you are on :)

Andrew, should be mate. 8.15-8.30 should be ok to rock up. Might be worth giving oran park a call on 46 46 1004 regarding fuel and pricing as we have nothing to do with that :D

OK the bar has just been raised for the 5th July!!!!!

Just had a look at the entries and noticed Mackie and Lucas have entered in the exiges!!!!!!!!!!

Peter Lucas just did a 1.34 around the creek on the weekend, while Tim Mackie did a 1.37!!!!!!!

So Lucas is 5 seconds faster than Berry around the creek and 9 seconds faster than Penlington.

Yes these times were done on slicks. These are proper race cars that have entered and are able to run in open. We are all up sh!t creek.

    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
    • I assume clearances were all a-okay?
