Esky? I have just bought one of those beer bellies, so compounds my beer gut and gives me a 1.25L bladder that i can stash some real cheap scotch or vinegar or something in. But yeh, some schooners on the hill with empties being thrown at cars/drivers who are not turning on a spectacle. After all this is Australian Motorsport!

The only thing I'm looking forward to more is the excuse thread (sorry wrap up thread) once it's all done and dusted. Now that will be entertainment :D

lol yeah same - ill start now "i dont have my big brakes fitted yet"

Or of course the other options:

Gearbox not done

Oil surge

Wrecked a bearing

Hey yeah plenty of yappin, luv it Dirtgarage and, "The dogs bark and the carvans move on."

I will be driving it also on the day but not in timed session. FYI I drive it heaps and enjoy it yes. I am not sure why I or my car has been singled out as dirtgarage or Red Racing and Bell and others have V8 Supercar and other drivers. Keep it up though. Bozman covered this perfectly anyway.

Dirtgarage as mentioned you have Luke Searl driving who's car business partner. What business? Kettle black as Duncan mentioned but worth a try at least.

:D:):(

I treated you with the utmost respect when at your premises the other day...as a king should be respected in his castle. But you couldn't help yourself, could you John, every opportunity having a dig.

Paybacks are a bitch...arent they...

Reading this thread all morning and that was the best you could come up with? Your pathetic !

You have been singled out because most of us are in disbelief....you ringing other competitors about what your up to....you coming on here talking the talk...and now you pull out...unbelieveable

I cant wait for the 15 schooners after the event.

This thread is great be funny when every1 meets at the track on the 5th & have a good laugh about all the chit chat on this thread LOL

Well what is the time expected to win this. But what if it rains that will sort the men out from the boys. How well can these boys drive in the wet should be very interesting. I know i cant drive but i can drink.

Your full of sh1t...just for the record Dave owns the car. Luke Searle our steerer owns a Go-cart business, Dave can wop his arse on the go-cart track...so you CAN drive...technically a quicker driver than our nominated steerer. So in reality folks we are putting Luke in the drivers seat to handicap us a little as Dave has already proven he is a faster driver than him.

You just want to get on the piss with me all day...im onto your caper.

Whats the rules about alcohol at this event?...Im sick of walking around at drag meets drinking Jack Daniels out of a coffee mug.

Dirtgarage put your boxing gloves away and you must have thin skin if you think I was both serious or attacking you when you where here the other day. Your kidding right? I was holding back I thought.

Your argument is funnny and black is white or grey or....

Go Kart racing is vastly different to circuit racing and I would bet my zed that Luke would be faster by a second or so than Dave. Nothing against Dave as I know he is a very good driver and surfer too, but experience at the track in cars and expereince at Oran Gp can't be learnt in one day.

Dirt garage funny you should mention that next time you are at a police station at night see what is in their coffee cups, if you can. Stressfull job pulling over try hard test pilots with dirt garage shirts on, testing gtr's at night. I guess.. waiting....

Hey where is GTR Jason when you need some reving about speed boat racing or something.

GO Russ rev it up too whilst at it with the laughing stock that is gold. It was a smacking for sure.

my days of fighting in the ring are long gone John...you were not attacking me, just sh1t stirring/having a dig. Thats all im doing to you...nothing but livening up the thread with a bit of banter.

Ill bet that Luke is more than a second faster than Dave...a lot more...you should see him negotiate a roundabout...you'd swear he was on his surfboard then too!

    • Have a look at that (shitty) pic I posted. You can see AN -4 braided line coming to a -4 to 1/8 BSPT adapter, into a 1/8 BSPT T piece. The Haltech pressure sender is screwed into the long arm of the sender and factory sender (pre your pic) into the T side. You can also see the cable tie holding the whole contraption in place. Is it better than mounting the sender direct to your engine fitting......yes because it removes that vibration as the engine revs out 50 times every lap and that factory sender is pretty big. Is it necessary for you......well I've got no idea, I just don't like something important failing twice so over-engineer it to the moon!
    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSPT male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSPT reducing bush? I am making the assumption the OEM sender is BSPT not BSPP/BSP
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
