I had the choice of Cheap 33 gtr or nice R34 gtt... i went the 34 obviously, main thing that swung me was the interior. R33s are just bland inside for me sadly. I think nissan could have put in abit more effort!

All the R32/33/34 are bland. Like comparing poo. I actually think the R34 GTT has some of the worst interior fabric colour/pattens you can get. Personal tastes differ.

Ridiculously harsh criticisms for someone on a skylines forum...

Exactly what car has a better interior than a 32 or 34? I think the R34 interior is very nice.

Definitely go the GTR btw.

tastes do differ.

to me though the dials, dash, door trims, interior trims of the R33 (specially gtst) are quite unsporty.

a big let down to the exterior looks of the R33 i believe.

R34 they made the dials nicer, triple gauges, sportier seats, trim, doors, dash. IMO anyway

R34 GTR is not bland though, depends on what your comparing it with i guess?

gtr's dont hold their value, they just depreciate at a different price range as they initially cost more to buy . r32 gtr's in decent condition are going for the price of an s2 r33 gtst (15-18k), and r33 gtr's are going for around $25k.

I don't know where you shop around , but last I looked a good GTR33 was still fetching $30K Plus and this is stock.

As for your R32GTR...show me one for 15K in good condition...body and engine wise and I will buy it Tomorrow.

When you have owned a GTR and put some money(10K) into it with upgrades etc....No...and I mean NO gt-st

will keep up with it on the track......on the drag strip...around corners...up hills.....should I go on...

And this is with a stock motor...if you have some work done on the internals...well lets just say..not many cars

on the road can come close..around corners..on the track...in drag race up hills..... :P

Before you comment on a GTR....drive one around for a few days.....you might just realize what I am talking about.

Didnt mean to start a bit of a slagging war, but on the other hand it is good to see that SAU members are passionate about their cars no matter what it is.

Talking with minister of finance and she has given the all clear for a GTR.....IF...... I still want one in 12months!!

I said of course Im still gunna want one then, but yeah bit of comprimise.

I will have to stick with the GTS until I can find a decent GTR that I can afford/talk her into, by that time they might be a bit cheaper and will be able to bolt some upgrades on straight away. but if I had the Cash and import experience I would get something like this I reckon, http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/deale...php?carID=63404

One would reckon the last thing I would want to do is drive a car on the weekends after doing 5000k's in my truck every week but hey....ITS A SKYLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have not looked for a while then.

i personaly like the rwd aspect of the gtst, and no i dont have the money for a gtr but if i did, i would get a 2jz supra.

I think the operative word is 'good'.

Compared to the GTR the supra commands greater ultimate power. www.realultimatepower.net :)

If I had the money for a new GTR I would buy 5 2jz supras and change my name to TRD ( pronouced t-rd or turd).

Sorry off topic and I couldn't find the link to my thread quick enough

Meh, I bought one for the fancy R badge
Beetak y0! type R badge?

So...if I put an R badge on my GTSt my car would pwn all??

:D

(And hell no I wouldnt even dream of doing that!! :D )

Prestige Motor Sport are quite good. I have 2 friends who have imported a S13 Silvia K's and a R33 GTS-T. Decent prices and fairly nice cars.

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
