its funny because i said i would be seeing blood, but somewhere someone has to say enough...violence will only perpetuate the problem. Bashing people wont solve the issue it will make it worse.

It seems the 'one punch can kill' campaign isn't really having an effect or is it, what do people think about it?

then again mate, you never know what the true story could be.

yeah very true, but considering the police knew some of the guys that bashed them, they must be known hooligans around the city. but yeah my instincts tell me in this case that it wasnt ther fault, but i could be wrong.

there are allot of assumptions and generalisations in this thread...

remember there is always two sides to a story, i heard today the driver of the car is wanted by the police for questioning about other "criminal" matters...

so one might assume the attackers knew the victim in this particular case, and this was some form of payback or warning...

never know...

yes col, u never know, but u only see one side of the story on tv, im just going off what i saw, anyway, bashing people is just shitty especially in packs, i mean there is better ways to get back at some 1 face to face one on one. then see how tough some 1 is. the worts thing is most of the time its not worth reporting bcoz the police file a paper and it goes into the filing cabinet never to be heard of again, unless its pretty serious. people get bashed daily but i bet halfof them arent reported bcoz of the image that people portray of the police not following things up.

Steve if i was you i would seeing blood, about 4Gs worth for the people who vandalised your wheels for no reason.

ease up on the gross generalisations people, why are some people saying all Australians (Please note the country you live in is spelt with a capital) are violent wankers. allot of this shit only happens in cities where people think they are 'thugs' or 'gansta' which is well known to be a city/hood culture. Australians who live outside this American ideal of every man for himself bullshit are some of the best people/mates i have ever known.

this is why i hate cities, everyone should spend sometime in the outback jackrooing or something to instill some mateship back into city culture.

well said.....

there is two sides toe very story but im sure no one deserved hospital outta it

sad times

Well it still isn't as bad as America here... I mean one of my dads mates moved here about 20 years ago because there were armed gaurds at his sons high school. And they didn't exactly live in the slums. I mean, we are MILES off that.

Anyway, I completely blame this attack on TV, specifically 'Underbelly' its a bad influence on children, look what happens!

Few other comments, people paying out commodoores, its just as bad as paying out skylines... Same thing different name. And don't give me the whole skylines are better thing. Both cars are made for a market which is COMPLEATLY DIFFERENT. If holden shut down tomorrow there would be a lot of Aussies out of work. Moving on from that.

As a few people have said, that sort of attack is never 100% unprovoked. Some one has done something, said something, or it could be more sinister being someone hasn't paid thier debts, or is on someone elses 'turf'.

Now to the blokes who had thier cars trashed by vandals, thats a different story. Thats just some chronic bad luck. Maybe look at changing insurers to someone who does cover vandalism, if you haven't already.

hey, ive just noticed that, even tho there is two sides to this story, we have found out , most of us have seen dumb crap for no reason, at mostly at skylines :ninja:..

hey, some one said booby trap the car, i swear i seen in a country somewere and they had flame throwers under the sides of the car, so if its stolen and they get to close to the passanger and drivers sides doors, flame throwing that reach about 60cms :D GROUP BUY? :(

South Africa bud. Its to stop the coons car jacking. :ninja:

Another show to look at is "Dangerous" on fox 8 - far worse then underbelly IMO, it basically glorified car theft of imports...

Someone said holden makes for a market, and that we shouldnt give crap on holdens cause its the same same as giving crap on lines. Well I dont really dislike holden cars. I mean I dont think there a good car, I think there poorly built etc but thats not my beef with them, just a reason why I wouldnt buy one. The main reason I dislike seeing a "tough" commodore is because of the demograph of people who drive them. Hard-nut terry tough-kent wankers for the most part, as thats the market holden caters to. Its why they keep putting bigger motors in there cars rather then trying to say, go a smaller turbo motor or get something like v-tech going. The bogan wankers wouldnt understand how it works. They'd go "less cubes? oh noes!"

/end rant.

+1

Is there a place to move to that isnt full of wankers and criminals? I want to go there...

Switzerland....every one has to join the Army for a year, and when you are on your way home you just wander around on the train with your gun, it is a pretty freaky sight. Yet it is amongst the contries with the least amount of gun deaths. All the busses ect are on an honesty system if they did that here the public transport system would be broke in 10 seconds! that is a society that has its shit together with respect towards each other and trust in one another. My mates apartment and many others dont even have a lock on the door

This is where comprehensive insurance comes in... it's called damage whilst parked... you pay ur excess, the company repairs ur car... Any company that wont cover that under comp I'd be steering clear of.

Now imagine if National Service was still in here and all the do-gooders that want this that and the other stopped weren't around... Australia would be nowhere near as bad as it was. Kinda like in the paper today that Anna Bligh is considering bring in double demerit points during holiday periods if it really does reduce the road tolls like other states.... When they start educating people properly when they are young might be a better start to sorting out crap like the OP was speaking about and the violence going on... that as well as stop slapping these tools on the wrists and letting them go.

There would definately be 2 sides to the story with the OP, I told my olds and mum said there was something else recently where some driver threw their cig butt out the window and someone picked it up and threw it back in the car. I think she said this was a woman in the car, but could be something along those lines as well and stuff being said...

to all you armchair justice leaguers; why bother with two sides of the story?

NOTHING justifies getting beaten up that badly.

period.

edit: those of you that think the guys in the skyline may have deserved what they got, pending information, are f**king idiots and no better than street thugs

So many examples that I know of, that could justify this situation. For example money.

Downside to Switzerland is they banned all kinds of motorsport since an F1 crash back in the 50's or 60's that killed 80 people or something. Im sure that they have something, but it wont be big.

A long time ago i had an idea for an addition to a car alarm that gives people that mess with your car an electric shock. Its a simple circuit that could be enabled when the central locking has locked all the doors. It would work when the car is stationary, or if your at the lights, and would at the very least give you a few seconds to drive off while a would be attacker is left wondering what just shocked the hell out of them. I might put this on my to-design list again...

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
