Particularly if it's a new unit, I would be looking for some sort of build plate on the centre cartridge to identify its specifications.

I don't know that I'd have any issues with some casting imperfection on that comp cover though. It's either structurally flawed, or just a cosmetic thing. Pull the cover off and have a look inside. That will tell you whether to be worried about it or not.

I do think there needs to be a bit of re-orientation of the centre section so that the oil dump is facing downwards, and not upwards though.

Went for a drive in a RB20 with a 700HP turbo on it the other day, i was unimpressed, never been in a car that actually came off of boost during a gear change and had to build up boost again.T04e's are very, very outdated man, i personally would be going something more modern, the lag that thing is going to have is a joke. Each to their own i suppose.

Innovative made me a custom T04 with an O trim and the rest built almost identical to a 3582R I am making 480whp on my GTS4 at 1.4 bar with very little lag but my car has a Stagea Rb25det in it... on my Rb20det with this same turbo I was making just shy of 420 due to weak injectors and fuel peaks and it wasnt very laggy at all...

I would say get a hybrid built I payed 980 bucks plus shipping 2 years ago... and its ball bearing...

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
