Hey guys

I've got an R34 GTR VSpec II and am about to do some mods to her.

R34 N1's

700cc Injectors

Walbro Pump

Apexi PFC

HKS Intake

Exhaust w/ High Flow cat

I have Z32 AFM's also which im trying to decide whether to fit or to sell, for the power those mods will produce (Hoping like 350 - 400rwhp) will i need Z32's? If not what kind of power will i need to be making to justify them?

Also, as far as the mods go, is there anything i have overlooked that will add easy power to the car that i should be considering? (Been told not to look at Cams or anything as the R34 GTR's don't really need them for that power, but i don't know how true this is)

No. Normal R34GTR turbos are ball bearing with ceramic tubines. The N1's have ball bearings and steel turbines, look very much like GT2530's and are capable of around the same power.

I would stick with what you have at the moment and see what afm voltages you get...if they are not close to going full scale I would leave them.

The reason for this is if you went for z32s and they were only measuring upto say 30-40% of full measurement scale or voltage, you are not using the full input resolution of the ECU and technically you are losing precision in your tune..The ECU uses an A-D converter to convert voltage into a digital number. Not analogue. So voltages are either rounded up or down to the nearest value. If the ECU has an input range of 0-5v and you are only using 2v of that range then between each corresponding digital value would be higher and the resulting error would be higher..

An analogy to this,

If wanted to measure the length of something that was 87mm in length and you had either:

1. A 1 metre ruler with 1cm divisions

or

2. A shorter ruler say 300mm long divided into 1mm increments

The best option would be option 2 for measuring the 87mm. The 1m ruler would see it as (9cm) 90mm and not 87mm

Oooops, sorry, mis-read it... HP..! i got 303.1Kw at wheels similar plus internals and flowed head, flashy filters etc, plus FPR plus good boost controller plus more too.

N1's are superb Road 'bines tho, stick with them. there are a few variants as well i am told too!!, but i unclear what the variants are.

Is this correct? Thought the standard 34 gtr turbos would flow more than the stocka 32's?

No standard 34 turbos are slightlty bigger than 32+33 and better because they are ball bearing but still have ceramic turbine wheels .

R32 - 0.42a/r compressor

R33 - 0.42a/r compressor

R34 - 0.53a/r compressor

very useful for comparing stock turbochargers, lists all specs, wheels, trims, housing etc

Got that one paul, but the opinion here is stiil the best ones are the R32's.

R34 spool up quicker, but run out of steam. The Compressor wheel is smaller.

RB20 or RB25 just plug in ...that is what I have gone with.

But if you got $$$...Nismo all the way..at least you have bragging rights...... :banana:

ive still got my stock afms... made 287.8kw @ all 4's... that was on 15psi.. after that i ran tad over 17psi which is slightly over 300kw @ all 4's and afrs were still good...

they look like stock afms anyways.. as were injectors and fuel pump lol.. the stock GTR gear is pretty serious stuff really

hmm sell the z32 afm's. sell your standard ones. use extra money for a haltec or my personal favorite (short of 10g plus motec) the new wolf v500.

just buy something that uses a map sensor and be done with it

MAP sensor and multiple throttle bodies are not a good mix for a road car.

    • The car/ECU will have all the sensor that it needs and expect to have. I think i do not have to explain to you how the Link is way better specialy if you have swapped engine   I just do not want to deal with any "problems" cuz i have only Nistune which i learned is not that great and in my case cant even deal with that speed problem (Link can) And of course it will be way more easier to tune and diagnose and safe. And for the ECU/speed problem...i dont know.

If you have a 2016-to early 2018, you will need to replace your TCU with the newer version. If your manual 1st gear goes to 7k rpm and will hit the rev limiter unless you shift, you have the older TCU.   Why do I need to buy another ecu license/phone flash if I already have it on my ECU tune? Because of this, you will be required to purchase a TCU license and, if your tuner has it, the phone flash license required to tune it via phone/bluetooth.   Do I need TCU tuning? TCU tuning is NOT required. However, the faster your setup, the more it will assist in track and dragy time consistency.   If I’m ECU tuned by (tuner A) can I get my TCU tuned by (Tuner ? Yes, since it’s a different module and a completely separate flash, you can have two different tuners. However, it is highly recommend that you have both tuned by the same tuner. For me, my TCU tuning will directly complement my ECU tuning style and features and running my ECU and another TCU or vice versa MIGHT cause some issues. At this time and for the foreseeable future, I will only be tuning my current ECU tuned customers TCUs.     I have a SYVECS AWD controller. Do I still need it? Yes! The AWD controllers main job is to control your AWD system. However, with TCU tuning, you will no longer need the auto-shift function as that will be done through the TCU. The AWD controller will still be very beneficial for racers looking to maximize traction on the launch.     Shift schedule changes: holding gears longer at lower pedal input as well as max shift rpm changes. Please note, the new ECU race rom coming out will address 90% of the shitty drivability issues these cars have through custom maps from myself and Racebox—as well as others I am sure.   Increase shift speeds: as seen in the videos I’ve been posting, the TCU shifts much faster once tuned.   Increased shift pressures: as also seen in the videos, much firmer full throttle shifts.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
