The ticking sound can usually be rectified with a higher viscosity (thicker) oil. Many cars of all makes with higher kms usually make a ticking sound. Subaru's are especially renowned for this. How many kms on the car and did the ticking occur once you changed the oil?

I doubt it would be your belts as the sound wouldn't go away once the engine is warmed up.

Ah i see, i brought the car at 102,000k and now its done 106,000k. The oil that i used was motul turbo light, is there a way to reduce the noise? I like it when the motor is quiet.. An also i did not hear the tick once the oil was change it was not until weeks after

Reduce the noise by changing the oil to what it was before basically. Also now that we are approaching winter your car will get even noisier on start up. This is normal. You learn to live with it, but you can reduce the noise with the right oil imo.

Don't get 0W-xx viscosity. You don't need it. Good for revving out easy but too thin and by rule of thumb will be the noisiest. If you go by the Nissan handbook, they recommend their patented 7.5W (for everything!), but that oil breaks down easy (semi synthetic). I found Motul 4100 degraded quickly too (also semi synthetic). Motul Chrono 300V was much nicer to the ears and engine. Expensive stuff though. It is a case of sticky lifters/tappets and some cars are more prone than others. In my experience it has been an oil thing and has a direct correlation with the outside temperature as you will notice.

This is just from my experience and of various mechanics recommendation.

Cool, thanks for the feedback guys.. So what is it? the oil or the gasket? i dont know much about cars and if there's something wrong i'll take it to a workshop. I rather find out what could be wrong with it so that if i do take it to a workshop i don't come out with a new car..haha

    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
    • Probably. I take it that they are also mentioned to be for R34 Skyline? For example.... RDA has that part as RDA7957. I have the dimpled and slotted version of that on my car https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285518478694?srsltid=AfmBOopKxMuAFpsxZJdB1cam4D5RAj1f9yJyOttPZLAwXVNCOiwlhrIy This is DBA's top one piece equivalent https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364246686631?srsltid=AfmBOorbb0XHQgqTvZLgQPhg70nqJtGvdojKnugum3O2LFSr2h-obp8D
