Hey guys,

My father in law put me onto this, Now he is currently building one of these for his VS commodore and Nissan Pulsar both N/A applications.

Have you guys that have some knowledge about the WATER4GAS subject have any thoughts on using it in a turbo application?

(I know there are alot of scammers out there with their NEW LOW SUPER PRICES as the above website preaches, but its just to give you basic info on the system, thats all)

I thought, Would putting one of these systems onto a Turbo application benefit performance wise by allowing the user to either up boost levels/timing as there will be less chance of detnation occuring..?

Has anyone out there had any experiances/info/help on this matter?

It's a fundementally flawed idea. The process of seperating hydrogen and oxygen from water isn't 100% efficient. To top it off.... where do you think the electrolyser gets its electricity from... the alternator! Also not 100% efficient.

Basically your taking power away from the engine, wasting half of it and then trying to put it back in again. Alternators are only around a kilowatt anyway, a kilowatt electrolyser won't even run a lawnmower.

Spend the money on weed instead

I personally wouldn't put it in my car.

Try searching for "water injection" for a better alternative (power gains moreso than fuel efficiency)

there are some commercial/industrial units available last i checked.

i believe a taiwanese company has a number of applications. i have no idea how expensive or effective their units are but they seem to exist.

I have been looking into this for a few months now and has sound basis, with some challenges though. Honda and BMW have hydrogen powered cars now.

The point made about engergy in v energy out is a good point, although there was a guy called Stan Meyer who worked with this technology on cars for over twenty years and claims to have found that oscillating a certain frequency he made large amounts of hho gas, with minimal current input and thus also very low heat. If true it is the answer needed.

It is claimed that hho runs much cooler, can run much leaner, cleaner and much more effecient as a fuel compared to fossile fuel and higher octane.

The water fuel cell is a device invented by American Stanley Meyer, which he claimed could convert water into its component elements, hydrogen and oxygen, using less energy than can be obtained by the subsequent combustion of those elements, a process that results the reconstitution of the water molecules. Thus, if the device operated as claimed, the combustion cycle would start and end in the same state while extracting usable energy, thereby violating the first law of thermodynamics and allowing operation as a perpetual motion machine. Meyer's claims about the Water Fuel Cell and the car that it powered were found to be fraudulent by an Ohio court in 1996.[1]

Similar devices have been promoted by others (see Water-fuelled car): there is no evidence that any of these devices operate as claimed.

...but does it produce some hydrogen with wasted energy from your car.

i don't think anyone here would be using this as a perpetual motion machine.

if you are able to convert your wasted energy into a form that you can readily re-use ie something combustible then perhaps there is some merit.

the quote that "there is no evidence that they operate as claimed" is clever wording. this type of statement is dismissive. there is some evidence that they work as claimed. hydrogen is produced. whether it is efficient or worthwhile that is another matter.

you need at least 8 litres per minute of HHO to power a car.

A water for gas system would be lucky to make 1 litre per min.

That kind of cell would be very very hard to make unles you copy stan myers designs. He was the god when it came to HHO powered cars.

Some guys on the ford forums here in Australia who I have been speaking with have made kits that work on their cars, and getting substantial fuel economy improvements. Maybe they are making it all up.

You only need 2 or 3 litres a minute but depends on engine size.

Seems like most of the dissenters havent read much about the proposed idea. Nearly all of the systems ive seen are about using hydrogen as a suppliment to petrol. Hydrogen alone is a big can of worms for implementation on a petrol motor but as a combustion aid its a different story. Hydrogen improves combustion of most fuels, reduces emissions through more complete burning etc etc. Have a closer look.

Also look at info about hydrogen cutting torches (which are available commercially) and the unusual properties of hho gas when applied to various substances. One of the major plasma manufacturers reportedly uses hydro cutting to cut their glass fro plasma screens.

Again hydrogen does more to make other things burn rather than being a fuel in itself. Main problem I see with using it on an engine managed and turbo motor is knowing how much to trick computer in regards to the extra oxygen released in the process.

Easy to intercept the mixture signal and transpose it but to what extent. Would like to experiment with it but not on my turbo car! Any volunteers ha ha

    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.  
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack. 
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
